Feeling the heat in postpaid market, Mobilink has introduced new Packages. First look give an impression that Rs. 100 Line Rent Package called “Hundred” will remain the hot seller with 20 paisas per SMS offer with it.
Important Information
Existing customers have automatically been upgraded with the new rates, package name transformations are as follows:
- Freedom-2 to ‘i one hundred’
- Freedom-3 to ‘i four hundred’
- Freedom-3+ to ‘i nine hundred’
- Freedom-4 to ‘i fifteen hundred’
- Freedom unlimited to ‘i unlimited’
Free minutes apply to airtime only. However, during free minutes, average interconnect charges of Rs. 0.75/min will apply on calls to other mobile operators and fixed line (except ‘i unlimited packages’ where free minutes are inclusive of all charges)
- Call rates are inclusive of all charges. However taxes apply
- Charging pulse is 60 seconds
- All calls across Pakistan, across all networks, are charged as local calls
- Additional charges of Rs. 3/SMS will be charged on all international outgoing SMS
For Freedom Unlimited Basic and Premium packages:
- Mobilink Free Minutes apply only on calls made to the Mobilink network
- Other Mobile Operators free minutes apply only on calls made to other mobile operator networks
- Fixed Line Free Minutes apply only on calls made to fixed lines
Free SMS on ‘i unlimited’ packages apply on SMS sent to Mobilink customers
- 21% CED charges apply on all outgoing calls/airtime
- The Government Activation Tax on the sale of new connections is Rs. 500
- For GPRS Activation, customer will be requested to pay an additional Rs. 500 as security deposit
- Itemized billing charges will be Rs. 25 per month
- Rs. 25 per month is the SMS line rent charge
- Freedom-1 package is renamed as ‘i initial’ however no migrations are allowed into this package
mobilink and ufone still charge for interconnect charges on free minutes which is pathetic , they should follow telenor and warid in this manner
If you go through the tariff details given above; it shows that SMS rates are increasing with the line rent till the Rs. 1,500/- package.
Mobilink still follows its ages old practice of charging Rs. 25/- SMS Line Rent in addition to the Package Line Rent.
While the industry is giving On-Net & Off-Net free minutes; Mobilink chooses to provide only Free Air Time which means Off-Net calls will be billed; except on the top end packages.
does any1 have any figures for the number of telenor’s postpaid subscribers?mobilink has reported that it has over 500,000 indigo subscribers! i wonder if any1 knows telenor’s numbers?

infact, Mobilink is charging more call rates than they have published and informed to public which is quite shamful for them.
That’s why they are losing their valued customers, I am still using Mobilink connection but will change soon becuase they are not considering their failure, and stil saying they are the best !

I recently converted my number to Mobilink from Zong. It says I have Rs: in my account and my Airtime & Service expires in 90 days. What does that mean?
Does it mean my remaining balance will expire in 90 days or does it also mean my number won’t get any service from Mobilink after 90 days? I don’t think it’s like that.
