HR at Mobilink in Action, Earlier than Expected
Ali Raza Mehdi, VP Administration, HR and Security, Mobilink, has reshuffled its key administrative staff for various key positions in all three regions of Pakistan, as reported by our reliable sources.
It was further noted that three Directors/ Regional Heads of administration (forcefully) resigned from all three regions of country. These resignations came after a hefty layoffs in July 2009.
These structural changes have been made in the name of achieving more efficiency and to improve decision making and governance. He has also integrated the HR and Administration functions and created a matrix organizational structure where one person shall be responsible for both functions and report to two people at the same time.
The key features of the reorganization as reported by sources at Mobilink are as following,
Effective immediately the HR and Administration functions in all 3 regions are being integrated into one consequent to which a combined role of the Regional HR and Administration Head has been created.
Following this move Hassan Naqvi, Faisal Malik and Sardar Khalid will assume additionally responsibility of overseeing administration in South, Central and North regions respectively.
VP will supervise the governance of Administration country wide and therefore the Regional HR and administration Heads will report directly to VP for all matters related to their respective regional Administration functions in a matrix structure.
There will be no change in the Regional HR reporting relationship as Hassan and Faisal will continue to report to Sardar Khalid for all regional HR matters.
This has once again created panic in Mobilink camp and employees are feeling unsafe in their career at Mobilink – we expect more layoffs in coming days, which is apparently termed as right sizing by company officials.
This weekend will be spent on gossips and discussing about each other’s fate in the future.

Yes three directors were forced to resign
Imran Moosa, Director Admin, south
Noel, Director Admin North
Masoom, Director Admin Central
Let’s hope good for the rest
I think zaidi has been transferred to some other deptt but one way or the other it’s a very good decision on part of Mr Rashid Khan who is committed to bring mobilink back on track. Basically this whole lot including Furqan Bucha and his right hand Ali Malik are the most corrupt officers of this organization , they’ve earned literally multi millions of rupees in last few years and it was all under the umberalla of zouhair khaliq. Now as Mr Rashid has shown his commitment to curb these activities , ali mehdi and all others are showing up their efficiencies by making changes in organizational structure. There should be a proper auditing of all the previous jobs which have been ordered and administered by them.
It seems to be a very good change initially as all HR directors enjoy a very good repute in the market. Let’s see how new directors control the corrupt admn staff all over the country.
Masoom Zaidi director admin central has been relocated to north region, please correct information (insider)
[...] administrative force for countless key positions in all three regions of Pakistan, as reported by Pro Pakistani. It expand renowned that three Directors/ Regional Heads of administration (forcefully) resigned [...]
Mobilink now continuously filtering their staff to have just the best/working people at their place and clean up others.
There was a loop hole in previous layoffs procedure, many people were terminated from their services who were good at work but resisted the corruption going on in the company. Hence, the senior officials marked them in planned self apparaisal (In fact it was not S.A) and later on forced them to resign.
I think still, a lot to be done as the predecessors of corrupt mafia and vendors are still in action. Mobilink has to blacklist the suppliers who were ivolved in it and formulate a new system with comprehensive checks and balances in it. Moreover, the powers of directors need to be curtailed.
if these admin directors r out we see it correct in mobilink. we prayed to God that more blacksheeps in mobilink in ranks of senior managers and m2 and specilist gangs must be fired.more specificlly vaqas abdula, zahid iqbal,m.saeed akther and many.inshallah those who r corrupt will see the Gnd justice in this world. Allah Akber.
@ zameer – its very easy to sit in the comfort of your box and malign people but who are you to judge.
@ aamir bhai – such baseless commentary and malicious content is giving your blog site a bad name and attracting peple who want to take out peersonal vendetta. i like your news post but now sadly i am thinking this place is fast becoming a tabloid instead of a serious news place. aamir bhai you must do something about this.
Hussain, what is actually baseless in this news item? Pls identify.
Thats another bad news about layoffs
God please stop these things soon AMEEN
Dear Husain,
I really do regard your thoughts, but you see these people are playing with the jobs of those who come to office and earn a hard living for their families, as posted earlier they were the one who forced people to unwillingly resign from their jobs and the main culprits still enjoy to hold office.
Why don’t you realize that their is something fishy going around which forced higher management to take such actions. I’ve my friends working for mobilink, telenor and warid but the most pathetic picture is portrayed by the one who works for ML. There is an artificial culture being developed by higher ups in ML by which nobody can speak the truth. This culture needs to be changed for better. I really appreciate this blog which helps to write those words which remained unsaid for years . This is the era in which you can not hide the truth by force,
I think we should appreciate the efforts and courage of Mr Aamir who made it happen through this website. If you dont speak you cannot get the justice, as it happened with our judicial system. I’m not being paid to write this but i do care about those who have been abducted due to it. ML is an asset of pakistan and we should try to bring it back on track.
@hussain- agreed that there should be some ethics while giving personal opinions.
@aamir- corruption is everywhere.. pointing finger at any individual without evidence is actually ” baseless ”
@zameer- u seems one of the victim of mobilink so called mafia…lolz …. so no one should mind your opinion … u have all the right to express yr gutt feelins… keep it up man
@ Marwan:
i am wondering – i didn’t point fingers at anyone – also didn’t discuss corruption, at least in above post
Aamir- it was not for yr post brother, on yr comment which u given to hussain. Yr post is all fine and have authentic info as per my knowledge.
oh your comment relieved me : – )
Why all of you forget about the rest of the departments in Mobilink. Admin is just one of them, there are more culprits around than these and big ones. Don’t rely on company communication copy+paste only
You are right javed, technical deptt is another main culprit which is equally condemnable.
Lately there were news that zong is taking over telenor, is there any reality in it. Do comment if anybody knows about it
brother the new news is that Telenor is taking over zong
Thanks Javed although it’s vice versa but still something is happening around in telecom sector
telenor has better payscale and systems i think zong personnel will definitely get benefit from it
allah kare yeh sub _______ is company se nikal jain
