Wateen Binds Login IDs with MAC Addresses

In an effort to completely eliminate the chances of multiple use of Login IDs, Wateen has decided to bind login IDs with MAC address of its CPEs (or WiMAX devices) – meaning that one login ID will be applicable for one CPE only.
Earlier, Wateen had made multiple efforts for restricting multiple usage of its account, i.e. one account used by more than one customers, however, this step will leave no chance for multiple customers to use one ID.
By the way, Media Access Control or MAC address is supposed to be unique identifier for network cards/devices across the globe.
However, strategy adopted to implement this policy is causing trouble to the customers. Wateen is asking its customers to provide MAC address of their CPEs, so they can update their records and assign one particular ID for the CPE.
After MAC binding, login page for Wateen services will no longer be required.

They are not binding your computer’s MAC id but they are binding your CPE’s MAC which u can’t change in anyway.
Wateen is a dead company…. its time to shift to any other good operator.
Well day before yesterday which was Saturday i had got a complain guy at my residence to solve some signal issues on which he said me that wateen has taken back the auto login thingi due to some problems with their end and therefore now users will be requiring to login as it was previously happening ..
A very bad Policy by company, Becasue we can use our Login any time any where, but after that its not possible shit Man
o thats bad news for me.i was sharing a 1mb unlimted account with friend.i havent recharged my personal 512kb 5gb account from last 5 month.
Now after Mac bindiing wateen should decrease their tarrif of unlimited packages in order to survive.i m sure now they will lose atleast 1/4 customers affording their services by sharing their accounts.

Thats too bad! I think Wateen should offer accesibility of 3 MAC Ids so multiple users can use it easily! i wonder this step could decrease number of users again

my relatives buy wateen device at 2200 and franchise sales girl say him that if signals are not good at your home we will return it and give you your money back
after one hour he return device because there was no signal they said come after 15 days to get back your money and you get 1500
what a business i hope i could launch that kind of service atleast i got 700 and 800 and device also return lols
But the login page still exists. And such a bad strategy of rolling out this change through out in Pakistan. My brother was not able to use internet two days he called me when i checked the issue and consulted with Wateen Phone Support they told about this.
The change should take place transparently and i believe they have already MAC address of CPE.

one account one CPE ..!! thats no fair game,
if u have a proper filled & valid account u should b able to oprate any where from pakistan with any CPE.
Wi Tribe is the next batter option ,need a bit heavy pocket but Their service is marvlous …

it means i cant use WIFI on my E71 and Laptop simultaneously…
and if they allow me to add MAC address of e71 too then whats the point of this policy…
LOlz it also means we dont have to secure our wirless network too because no son of *)(*()* can use it as his MAc add wont be in their database…

hi everybody
can anyone help me to restrict others accessing my wateen device. The problem i m having is that whenever i switch-on the device, any person unwanted person who has laptop with WIFI, can easily access my device.
