EVO isn’t Available in Sargodha, Unlike Claimed by PTCL

PTCL in a statement, earlier this week, claimed that it has taken EVO services to more than 100 cities and towns; however, it turned out to be an exaggerated claim or call it falsified one – as service is yet to hit many destinations including Sargodha.

When we checked our local sources in Sargodha, they confirmed that EVO isn’t available in the city. PTCL Exchanges confirmed us the same.

When contacted to find out official viewpoint on this, PTCL said “It is available in pockets and under optimization /testing, will be available in next two days”.

One may wonder what does this pocket availability mean to a common user?

It would be interesting to find out PTCL’s targets and goals that it wanted to achieve by announcing a service (in mainstream media) ahead of its availability.

Here is EVO ad published in today’s newspaper.

    • well PTCL is the winner as they have always been!

what i know is thay had launched the service on 1st of July and rightly said by Bilal Bajwa they were testing the service as some QoS issues were reported.
I have personally tested and EVO is available with max data rates in Industrial Area Sargodha area.
To be honest we should appreciate that PTCL has always been the pioneer in providing state of the art technologies to the end user and really felt honoured when i read in some international publication that for the first time world over PTCL has launched next generation EVO as well with 9.3 Mbps data rates.

    • What CDMA mode? EVO is supposed to work on EVO mode.

It works on CDMA mode only in cities, like Sargodha, where it isn’t available on EVO mode.

  • no its not available! i know they are testing some services or almost near to start this service, but just contacted with few friends within PTCL and they told still under testing phase and service not started yet for public.

  • Read the advertisement carefully… Rawat & Bara Kahu (Part of Islamabad) are also claimed as separate cities :-)

  • Providing the good damn services to every city except Abbottabad. What a shame! Abbottabad is more advance than by these 80 cities.

  • @ Abbotabad,88% of the list is covered by Punjab, 10 % sindh and 1% each of KPK and Balochistan. One can read the planer mind, they should refer it Punjab istead of Pakistan
