I tried to setup the modem with my wimax provider (witribe) and they refused to do so. Even though it would have been easy to simply register the modem id/mac address on their system and allow it to connect. But no, our people are generally penny wise and pound foolish.

Possibly Wi-Tribe or Qubee would install an application within each set to pick the WiMAX connection by default.

The handset price could be increased to incorporate these costs. Or bundled with a package.
