Nokia Announces C2-05 and X2-05 Models

Nokia has announced these two new models yesterday, which primarily comes with enhancement in their previous versions. Interestingly, both the models use old naming convention – despite Nokia explicitly announced the use of new naming convention. But never mind, we still have a name to call them.

Other than standard features, the main attraction of both the models is the Ovi Browser, which is in beta, that uses Nokia’s own compression technology to serve web pages faster than before. Nokia claims that this browser will deliver web content at a fraction of the bandwidth, and cost, of other mobile phones.

With this announcement Opera Mini will have it’s direct competitor in the market, that too with huge share in mid-end devices.

Otherwise, both the handset come with standard features, including social networking apps, VGA camera, FM player with recording facility and so on – and are aimed at mid-end user. Read on to know the details.

  • Good but not the best. I think OS should be changed. However, still Sonyericsson cells are considered as best mobile phone in term of widgets inside it.
Sonyericsson j10i2 is the best mobile phone having such features that are not available even in iPhones.

      • I think it would be better to compare other phones with j10i2(also called sony eircsson elm) by yourself and you will be surprised that this is the only cell phone that have countless features with very reasonable price. Some features are:

        5MP camera
        Smart design
        WAP 2.0/HTML (NetFront), RSS reader
        Radio
        GPS support; Wisepilot navigation
        Noise cancellation with dedicated microphone
        HD Voice ready
        Splash resistant
        MP3, WAV player
        SensMe, Track ID
        MP4/H.263/H.264 player
        Google Maps
        Picture editor/blogging
        YouTube, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter applications
        Widget Manager
        Organizer
        Eco friendly materialWalkmate, CO2 Calculator
        Voice memo/dial
        Predictive text input

I bet you all of all these features aren’t present in a latest and expensive mobile phone!!!

        • One more feature this is “Accelerometer” is present in this phone which is not present in many latest phones.

          • It look like Nokia has got some inspiration from J10i2 design and imleneted such kind of curved design to Nokia x2-05.

It must be avaiable in Karachi. It was released in 2010 Apr. So i think you wouldn’t be able to find brand new mobile phone. However, 2nd hand phone’s price is 6000

  • My view on these model and article:

    1. U Browser is better than Opera mini.
    2. Battery timing is less than old models, than why some one go for these?
    3. Without multitasking, Low ranges phone net is almost useless.
    4. Rather than giving new same kind of models, its better nokia work on social networking apps.. Which is now a days more important.

    • no one is telling you to buy any low end phone. there are many people in world and also in Pakistan that they dont even know what is multi tasking and they dont really care about OS. these phones are for only low end users which cannot support high end phones.

  • Ye to btao single sim he k duble. Agar single he to bekar ab nokia ko tamam sets duel sim nikalne chahiye. Am i right?
