History of National ICT Scholarship

National ICT Scholarship program aims to transform Pakistan’s economy into a knowledge-based economy by promoting efficient, sustainable and effective ICT initiatives through synergic development of industrial and academic resources.

The national ICT Scholarship Program (NICTSP) was started to provide opportunities for students of the undeserved areas to study at leading ICT Universities of the country at 4-year undergraduate degree level.

So far, about 1,900 scholarships totaling more that Rs. 1.8 billion have been awarded to students of rural areas. The program has also funded about 2,500 teachers to get trained for making the students compete for entrance examinations. Also, nearly 36,000 students have been provided trainings to eliminate the sense of being underdeveloped when comparing with peers of urban and metropolitan areas.

  • how can they ignore “Mehran University of Engineering and Technology”? not even a single university from Hyderabad made upto the list.. even though Hyderabad also is one of the big cities of Pakistan. not fair!

  • Dear Awais, if you read properly you will realise that it is not a ranking but a “LIST” of potential PARTICIPATING universities for the cause which in this case is “awarding scholarships”.

  • I think Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro should have been in the list as it among the top 400 universities of World and it is ISO certified too.

  • i humbly wanted to state that u haven’t mentioned how to get the application forms? I have been searching about this problem for 4 days almost.

  • i so hope that that this ictrdf schollarship programme will bright the futures of needly students in the proximo days.
