Raja_Pervez_AshrafPrime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has directed Interior Minister, Mr. Rehman Malik to ensure that every possible measure is taken to safeguard the existing mobile service from elements who misuse it without causing any inconvenience to the common man, said a statement issued by the PM house.

The Prime Minister gave these directions in a meeting with Mr. Rehman Malik, Interior Minister who called on him at PM’s House this afternoon.

The Prime Minister said that mobile is an essential requirement of the modern day life and citizens of Pakistan must continue to enjoy this facility without any disruption.

On orders of Rahman Malik, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority had earlier directed mobile phone operators to block cellular service in Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Quetta on Eid evening.

Mr. Rehman Malik briefed the Prime Minister about the steps taken by the  Ministry on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitar for preempting any untoward incident. He said that the decision of blocking mobile facility in certain areas played a critical role in maintaining peace during the Eid.

The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of Interior Minister and his team for the excellent security arrangements made in coordination with provincial governments on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitar.

hahahaha, before today I never knew I could come to propakistani for telecom jokes and entertain myself :p

  • The government is only posturing. The government desperately needs the 19.5pct gst on telecom services that is derived from mainly prepaid cards.

So hold no illusions, the government cannot afford to curtail its own revenues. That is whats going on.

  • gov wasting time on useless issues … they should concentrate on serious issues like electricity , railway, etc…

  • Bat sirf ye hy ke Pakistan mein ye log har cheez awam se cheen lena chahte hain
bijli, gas, aata, gandam aur cheeni ki tarah

  • Why this ‘nakhra’ govt? just increase tax to 35%.. you are the law and (you are parliment+ senate+ PTA+ President) just pass the ammendment to increase tax to 35% and revocation of GSM licence of on oppose of such law… noone can stop using mobile…and company which oppose just cancel it licence.. dont know why fool govt doesnt tax this industry heavely…
P.S : Pakistan is the croupt country of the world…Never ever can anyone make it a safe country…!!!

  • What I personally think is that PTA should play a major role by creating a headquarter where a common person may go with his/her proper NIC and required documents. Headquarter will allot him a 7 digit number after verifying his/her particulars. After getting a number with a PTA’s n.o.c, its up to him/her whether he/she want pre-paid, post-paid sim of telenor, ufone, zong or mobilink.

If cars and bikes have number plates, why cant we have our own govt registered 7 digit number?
Which can be use as our cell phone number. Rather than blocking prepay sims just for the sake of their laziness.

  • Adding more, If PTA is very much concern about cable net operator license, then it should be concern about allotting cell phone numbers to mobile consumer by itself rather then giving all the authorities to the cellular companies. All pakistanis who want to use cellular services should have 7 digits registered P.T.A number. After getting a number, they can go to desired cellular franchises along with PTA’s N.O.C and 7 digits number allotted by P.T.A to get their sim on the allotted.

  • Funny Govt.
Khud he issue bana deti hai or khud he solve kar deti hai !!! kyun k Awaam k issues to in sy solve honay wali nahi !!!
kash hum log he change lay ayen ab……. bohat ho chuka ab to…..
