If you are a desirous Play Store pioneer, who fondles to experiment with random Apps from Android Play Store regularly, then there is a firm chance that your phone has been compromised by one of the One Million high-risk malware apps existing on Play Store.
Security researcher, Gelo Abendan of Trend Micro has evidently unveiled that, the number of malicious content, malwares and high-risk application in Play Store has already hit 1 Million mark with still three month to spare before the year ends.
Trend Micro researchers had earlier foretold that, due to the high demand of Android devices, the malware count will reach 1Million mark by the end of 2013.
According to the researchers, FAKEINST and OPFAKE had topped the Mobile malware family, affecting the total of 64% of the mobile phones affected, in general, here is the statistics revealing the influence of each malware in making Android based phones, a High-risk choice for an individual.
FAKEINST malware is generally disguised as legitimate applications, and are known to be premium service abusers — sending costly text messages to services without a user’s permission and incurring high costs as a result.
OPFAKE is similar to FAKEINST, and also mimics legitimate apps — but one variant, ANDROIDOS_OPFAKE.CTD, opens HTML files that ask users to download malicious files, as well as performing standard risky activities including premium service abuse.
The threat to mobile devices is not limited to personal data theft and adware, however, Trend Micro says that banking transactions performed on a smartphone or tablet are at increased risk too.

And no its not like that, unlike iphone when you install an android app it tells you exactly what you are giving it permission to do so if you install a game that says it wants the ability to sms yeah its your fault :)
Even iPhone alerts when app is accessing address book, location or anything else, in iOS 7 it even alerts when Microphone is being accessed. You can’t claim these features as android exclusive. Not to mention that NSA has access over all smart phones. These are just gimmicks. You like android that’s your personal preference. No matter where you switch, you privacy is open.
I was talking about when you install an app please don’t say ios has that I have had a 3gs 4s and now have a iphone 5 as my secondary phone never came across it , I agree with the latter but if you notice I never said android was better or ios was bad it is a matter of preference.
Yes iOS don’t display when u install but it does when app tries to access anything private. Second on iPhone installing unauthorized app or from any 3rd party store is not that easy like on android. You can install a unauthorized or cracked app on iPhone when its jail broken which a normal user doesn’t know how to do. On android it is easy.
True but again see its down to the user unless you go check that box to install an apk from an unauthorized source it won’t happen automatically
Bottom line Windows Ios Android windows phone OSX Lunix whatever the operating system is. It is always down to the end user be smart and you won’t get malware.

I hate to break it to you but this is at the play store and the play store isn’t open source and you can have android without the play store just saying.
The problem is playstore policies that let anyone publish apps. Ever wonder why there aren’t reports of malware in the amazon app store? it is an alternative android appstore.
still big brands like Samsung,HTC,LG are loading their phones ANDRIOD. why , aren’t they aware of bugs, malwares can harm their phone & by that ppl will leave androids

And yes Android is plagued with malware, only way to avoid this is to go for certified app developers. Google did run a drive to remove these apps a few months back. Guess they will do it again after this report from trend micro
