PSEB to Initiate an Accreditation Programme for Reputed IT Companies

Minister of State for IT Ms. Anusha Rahman has directed Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) to initiate an accreditation and certification programme for well reputed IT companies to bring them in line with International standards.

The directives were given during the 22nd meeting of the PSEB Board of Directors; Ms. Anusha Rahman chaired the meeting. Other attendees included Federal Secretary IT Mr. Ahklaq Ahmad Tarar, MD-PSEB Mr. Amir Malik and Mr. Saleem Ghauri.

The IT Minister reviewed the on-going projects and directed MD-PSEB to make proposals for enhancing the existing capacity of PSEB and to suggest measures to make it more vibrant and fruitful.

It was also decided in the board meeting that the Ministry of IT and PSEB will participate in IT exhibitions to facilitate IT companies giving them an opportunity to market their products locally and internationally.

The Minister of State for IT has also directed MD-PSEB to make all necessary arrangements for early settlement of the land issue with the Punjab Government to acquire the allocated land for the establishment of an IT Park in Lahore. The issue has been pending for many years now.

The board was also directed by the Minister to expedite the process of the appointment of a technical advisor through World Bank for the proposed Technology Park so that it could be established within the stipulated time period.

The Minister went on to state that the PSEB has a pivotal and key role to play in this era of technological advancement to make Pakistan as a leading destination for IT business for potential companies and foreign investors.
