The online property listings portal Lamudi (Lamudi.pk) produced an analysis of searches on Lamudi’s online platform, which reveals that the Pakistani city of Karachi is the most popular location for home-hunters in Asia.

Karachi was closely followed by Lahore and Yangon City, Myanmar in the analysis. In full, the cities which made the top five ‘most searched’ areas are:

  1. Karachi, Pakistan 26% of searches
  2. Lahore, Pakistan 22% of searches
  3. Yangon City, Myanmar 20% of searches
  4. Dhaka, Bangladesh 20% of searches
  5. Islamabad, Pakistan 12% of searches

Saad Arshed, Country Director of Lamudi, commented on the analysis saying, “With a buoyant economy and as one of the largest cities in the world, it is little surprise that Karachi is the most popular city with our customers. Whether you are looking to buy or rent residential or commercial property, Karachi has a wealth of opportunities. This is reflected in the numbers of people searching for property there.”

A clear trend identified in the analysis is the volume of searches for Pakistani cities. Lamudi.pk has been growing aggressively,  uploading more than 15,000 new listings per month, according to the stats shared with us by the.

Launched in 2013, Lamudi is the online property portal for emerging markets. The company is backed by Rocket Internet, the German start-up incubator.

  • Blah blah blah – this is total BS. This site is too new and small in Pakistan to be making such claims.

    • Sir! How hard it is to track the searches of the users?
That’s what they did on their site. And we all know that Karachi is around the top most populous cities in the world, so their analysis seems legitimate to me.
