Telenor Pakistan yesterday paid its first instalment for 5Mhz of 3G spectrum it had won, to become first operator to have paid the license fee.

Telenor had won 5Mhz for deployment of 3G services in Pakistan against US 147.5 million dollars. As allowed by PTA, Telenor opted to pay 50 percent of the fee as up front, while rest of the money will be paid in five years with interest.

Zong and Mobilink are reportedly going to pay their full license fee instead of paying the money in installmenet, since their payments are huge and will involve higher interest values.

PTA is likely to hold a license award ceremony – after operators deposit their license fee – where licenses will be awarded to all 3G and 4G spectrum winners.

    • It will not take a long time. I hope till the next month all the payment will be successfully completed. Every cellular operator wants to launch 3G and 4G soon, because they need money as much as they can. They cannot wait, you know Ufone has been running their ads in the TV channel.

      • the license cost is much more than the tv commercial.
There are 30 days in one month, so i believed that they will make the payment in last days of next month between. 21-24 may

        • Perhaps I am wrong! I am not sure about it. But I hope they will do this same process soon.

    • The money, which is made through auction, is all our Pakistan’s people. They should spend the money to fulfil the requirements of load shedding or any other useful infrastructure.

      • Technology is one of the important things too :) . It was really a shame that Afghanistan had 3G before us .. so appreciate what is going on rather just criticizing it.. I know we need to work on Load Shedding too but 3G is not bad too :P

        • We Know too..!! It is not a problem too!! I am not claiming that 3G is bad too..!! :D

  • hell0 aamir bhai .. kya warid apna mobile internet behtr bna rha hy ? koi asi news hai kya ? May mey kch launch kr rha hy kya warid ? Plz reply

  • Wow what a speed #Telenor is offering in Blue Area Islamabad :( Really disappointment..

  • I demand all Telcos who got 3G/4G licenses to immediately publish their 3G/4G coverage maps.

    • Jo hukum sir, aap ka hukum sir aankhoon par…

This is what you must be thinking that operators will take your comment as but a decent reply from them would, Bi__h Please…jaey moun dhoo kay aaeyay :D

    • And who do you think you are to “demand” LOL. With that I bet you are a prepaid user who does a 30 Rs “easyload” a month and want the maps badly so you don’t get deducted hahahahahhaha

  • Would be great if the author can learn how to spell ‘Installment’ correctly :)
