If you think that 3G or even 4G was your last resort for mobile broadband needs then the time has come to think it again.

I am saying this PTCL is all set to come up with something that will blow your minds. The company has decided to shock the market again with this new device that will change the way we connect to internet, exactly like it did with EVO and Nitro devices few years ago.

We have confirmations that blazing internet speeds up to 36Mbps are going to be up for the offering to masses in Pakistan with-in next just couple of weeks, yes that’s about with-in 15 days from today.

According to the information we have received, this new technology is being pioneered in Pakistan by PTCL that is capable of offering wireless broadband speeds up to 36Mbps for download and up to 7Mbps for data uploads with-in PTCL’s existing WLL spectrum.

Our sources confirm that actual download speeds crossed 30Mbps mark on a network that PTCL is currently testing in a live environment.

Customers can expect actual download speeds of 20Mbps to 25Mbps after the launch of this new project from PTCL that is code-named as “Chaar Ji” with-in the company.

PTCL hasn’t confirmed us anything officially yet, however, we have cross checked with multiple sources to believe that this whooping wireless broadband speed – something we used to hear about from our foreign friends only – will be available on EVO-like WiFi dongle devices.

At the time of the launch, we are told, the service will be offered with a starting price of Rs. 3,000 per month. Pricing may go higher with higher data caps, but we don’t have final details yet.

Expect more details on this ridiculously fast internet in Pakistan with-in coming days on this website.

For now, just imagine a download speed of 20Mbps even when you are driving around on the roads of Karachi!

Thanks to Rana Jawad Ahmad for his contribution in preparing this post.

Update

As mentioned above, there are already tests being carried out by PTCL on this technology that offers 36Mbps download speeds.

The feedback from testers has been amazing, as apparent by below tweet shared by a fellow. It also has the image of “Chaar Ji” device that will launched later this month.

  • Please inhen kahayn 36Mbps baad men launch karayn pehle mere ghar aakar 4Mb internet ko fix karden.

    • 4Mb/s aur 4MB/s mein farq hota hai kaka…4Mb/s means approx 400KB/s nd 4MB/s mean approx 4000KB/s. Ptcl is offering 4Mbps not 4MB/s to u,,,,36Mbps=4.6MB/s

      • o bhai quety k pathan. Mb/s me small ‘b’ he jis ka mtlb he bit. n MB/s me capital ‘B’ he jis ka mtlb he byte. 1 byte = 8 bits. or 1MB= 1024KB, So 4Mbps = (4×1024 Kbps) = 4094 Kbps = (4094/8) KBps = 512 KBps. Apni science na mar.

        • I know the difference very well, isi lye to mene Small b likha comment. Bachpan se chawal they aap ya ab hogaye comment parh ke? Ya phir name parh ke? :D

          • ye nawaz sharif ka voter lagta hy mujhy . in ka kaam he yahi hy :-p

        • Everybody is talking out his guts. There is no such a thing as Megabit(s). There’s no difference between MB/s and Mbps. 4Mbps (4 Mega Bytes Per Second) = 4MB/s. The sequence of computer/internet data units are as; 8 bits = 1 byte, 1024 bytes = 1KB (or kb, small and capital alphabets do not matter), 1024 Kb = 1Mb, 1024 Mb = 1GB, 1024 GB = 1 TB (tera bytes).
@Quettay Ka Pathan wrora, da zoy marri tola da zana lagia di.

      • Oye Chawalon, Pathan ko gaya guzara samjha he kya? I know there’s difference b/w MB and Mb. Tell me if I’ve written it incorrect in my comment :)

      • he didn’t ask for this info. he is complaining about his poor landline connection. pata nai tum log kyun apni ilam jaarny ajate ho?

      • so its mean previously PTCL was maiking fool to nation with name of EVO 3G???

      • transfer rates are always measure in bits where as storage is measure in bytes.

    • support bohat buri hai PTCL ki bar bar phone kar k yahi pochtay rahtay hain ap ka masla hal ho gaya hai tu ya number daba dain.

    • Agreed, .. since last two 3 weeks continuously i am also facing multiple issues with my 4MB connection.

    • batao yar. Abay jahilo is ne 4Mb hi likha hia wo bol rha hia k usko 4Mb speed nhi milti. Uper comment to parho

  • amazing,,If they even give 4mbps consistent speed on pkr 3000, I’m ready to buy

  • ptcl ne pehle 9.3mbps lauch ki hai aur actual speed almost 1mbps hi milti hogi. sab users ko , now 36mbps launch honey ke baad 5 mbps mil jaye shahad. mujhe tu 100 mein se 5% persent yakeen hai

      • Bhai ap chotay Mb aur baray MB kay sath kyun larr rahay ho. tumharay pas 1GB ki speed ate hai kia? ab GB main mat larr na. :)

    • I am a user of Ptcl Evo Wingle
9.3MB , by testing speed , by speedtest.net it gives me average more than 3MB , not less than 2MB , now technology is going to change , so I think if Ptcl offer this ChaarG (4G) , it must be offer average more than 15MB

  • Again big claims by ptcl and services would be as inconsistent as unreliable as they could ever get, that all with absolutely pathetic customer support.

  • 3,000 per month for 36Mbps? I’ll eat my hat and more if this ever happens.

    • Don’t worry dear, they will put some 30GB monthly cap as well, so what would you do then, Specially on this 3000 Rs package.

  • I never had any chance to get signals on my Wingle on the go. Even when I plug the device, it lost wi-fi signals in the car :p ridiculous.

  • PTCL: We’re launching 36MBPS 4G USB Internet, with 20GB download limit. So you know, you can gloriously see your emails at 4MBs of speed.

    • And since youtube is banned all our bandwidth will be practically useless to you :)

  • On of my friend has been testing this “Chaar-Ji” on various places. He told me that this Chaar-Ji will fade the “3g gala”. Lets see.

    • Char ji is a big bulky USB…Actually it is manufactured by Huawei and a result of PTCL LTE deployment. PTCL had successfully deployed LTE in Mar-14. They had a plan for 4G licence or buy Warid. Unfortunately they were unable to make it up.. and now marketing their deployed LTE to recover cost without licence.. any how 9.1 was pathetic zero speed 8k in some areas.. but this is good..

      • Chaly bay! Warid ko khareedna tha. Nikal yahan say. Warid LTE nay ab PTCL ko khareed lay ga! Suckaaaas

    • PTCL wireless broadband is useless broadband have evo 3.1 and had 99% signal still getting shitty speed of 10 to 20 kbps

      • liar liar bums on fire

        This not true
i have evo 3.1mbps and i get 100 kbps in idm download with 40% signal strength.and is speed test i get 500kbps download speed.
        Its Good.

  • 4mbps dy ni skty aur 36mbps dain gy????

I,ve evo, live in isb, intalled antena and still getting 0.3mbps speed; promise was 3.1 mbps? Joke ptcl!

    • 100kbps is enough for every one for browsing and for download little files.
Why are you demanding 3.1 mbps???

  • This is just a marketing stunt. Actual bandwidth available per user will not improve. So, after this launch you are better off buying 3.1 Mbps device at cheaper rate and hope to God it works.

  • Yes
3000/- Per Month With 5GB DATA Download At DataRate Of 4.5 MBps .FTW

  • this is fantastic news i like this news a lot 30 mb connection for 3000 i think its worth it, look out 3g @1200 for 3gb max lol pff telcos gettin trolled by ptcl bring on the competition (insert troll face here)

    • bhai jaan evo to chala lain pahle i have evo 3g 3.1 but my warid give better speed than evo 3g hardly 10kb in peak hours

  • Can somebody help me get a phone connection… its been months since I applied. All I want is a broadband. Is that too much to ask for :(

  • Warid 4G LTE will destory PTCL 36Mbps by providing 100Mbps. Warid is already testing their LTE and its going to own every telecom company in the region

    • Like past PTCL will focus on selling devices rather then good speed and bandwidth
All their previous wireless products are totally shit with mobile 3g broadband users now had other options so Peetcl go and rest in peace

    • Device is named as “CharJi” but it is showing “3G” in status bar

  • The word is whopping, not whooping which means something entirely different

  • Ye lein G dekh lain sb EVO CHARJI (4G) … thandi karlein apni aankhein ! :P

  • I have EVO 3.1 mbps and it runs at 512kbps max with 50KB/s download speed. The max I have seen for just 2 seconds was 160KB/s. Now how the hell can they provide 36 mbps when they can’t even provide 3.1 mbps :/ shitty PTCL

  • Btw how come PTCL can run LTE service without acquiring any license?? Or have they found a loop hole in their license just like Warid? Kindly clear my confusion!

Btw such a paindu name Chaar Gi…WTF?? :/

    • They have a reserve spectrum chunk of size 30Mhz on the 1800Mhz band. So its a handsome amount to cater for the needs of the 186 million users of Pakistan.

  • they cannot even satisfy there existing customers and other thing is that there is no use of comparing this with the 3g

  • Aamir atta? Kiya app ko yeh sab news khuwab may aati hain? khud phuljhari chorh keh bhag gaye hain.

  • ptcl is just bull shit /our exchange was destroyed during earth quick 05 and untill now no services in the area … shame on ptcl

  • Very good step, in my area nitro 9.3 mbps working perfectly, hope Charji would work fine :)
    PTCL Rocksssssssssss

    • 9.3 Mbps equates to about 1190Kbps max download speed. You mean to tell me that you get about a 1000kbps download speed? I’ll eat my hat even if you get more then 600 kbps!

  • Tukkay Lagao Musalmaano kitni speed aye ge is chaar ji pay ??

    • buhat Farigh Speed hai, they will Never maintain the Actual Speed like other MObile operators

  • PTCL was very smart. They are launching 4G on technology neutral CDMA spectrum 5mhz (x2) that they won in auction, and then buy 5mhz from Supernet/Telecard and 5mhz from DVCom AKD Bhai.

This is 100% technology neutral and perfect for 4G LTE.

Ufone will use 5mhz from 3G auction for 3G service and 15mhz x 2 for PTCL 4G LTE service CharJi

  • and what about the limit… they always put limits on their wireless services….and we have seen in many cities the evo 9.3 MBPS showing result of 2MBPS in speedtest.net

  • ptcl is the worst liar comp in pakistan , i purchased their product it was written 9.3 mbps on the device but the sales man said it will offer only 2-3 mbps, and when i purchased it all i got was 0.2-0.3 with strong signal range. such a blood sucking company with sleeping people who dont care how their money is wasted, all they know is to criticize in here.

  • yeah and they will charge more then 10 thousand for it believe me. and no one is gonna buy that shit. except offices.

  • Bull shit Services/Hell Devices/DAMN PTCL … They are making fool to nation, Their 2MB internet takes 30 minutes to load 7MB file, Even Wingle services is same.. PTA should take strict action against them,

  • wingle 9.3 mbps ki speed thek sey di nahe jati chalay hein 36 mbps

  • O bhai tussi charge rehan dayo anna paisa advertisement tay lassi tay dojay din warid tay zong 150mbps lay k aa jan gay

  • 2 weeks passed ptcl is not in a possition to beat warid 4g lte 150mbps 5gb plan which is expected to be priced at 500plus tax

      • Warid is already offering 5gb only for postpaid customers at 500/month. 2mbps unlimited is priced at 1500/month so 100 rupee per gb is fair

  • The Evo was an utter failure. Max speed of 100 Kbps when they were supposed to be blaze at 9 Mbps. Going by that trend, this seems just a marketing gimmick. PTCL = all flash and no substance.

  • Dear all I have worked on this project as engineer. PTCL LTE project this is not fake. We have done physical installation of Huawei equipment on PTCL sites. After Installation we test the speeds with PTCL engineer with this device. Testing speeds are 25 Mbps. This speed is tested in Lahore Muslim town region

  • For those who dont know. 1mb ka matlab ha 1megabits not megabyte. 1megabyte is equal to 8 megabits. yani jb connectin 1mb hoga speed 1024/8=128 tak aae gi.
    1mb 1024/8=128Kilobytes per second
    2mb 2048/8=256kilobytes per second
    4mb 4096/8=512kilobytes per second
36mb 36864/8=4608kilobytes per second or 4608/1024=4.5megabytes per second

  • Kahan gai inki Charji jo 15 din k ander any wali the? Aj pory 20din guzer gy hain per koi ata pta nai.

  • PAKISTAN ma technology boooohat mehangii ha jo ka nojawanuun ka sath zayattii ha….aur aik aur bat…A.K muzaffarabad ma asii be jaghan ha city ka ander hi jahan evo 3g ki downloading speed 20kbps sa kush hi upper ha aur upload 0.3-7kbps…koi meri bat agar ptcl walun tak pooncha da plz…

  • I confirmed from a ptcl employee he told me it is on trial basis running in isb, lhr and krchi, for commercial launch will be in two months, we have to wait more 1 & half month,

  • can any one tell me please… Are PTCL Student Packages still working?
i want to buy 3 PTCL Student Packages for my family

    • A.A according to ptcl we are not launching in this type of any device.these are fake news.
