Ufone, initiated the launch of 3G services in the country after successfully bidding for the 3G spectrum license and finally winning it, after which free trial services were offered to customers in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Peshawar for limited periods, to get them acquainted with the technology and its benefits.
Similarly, the operator has started offering the free trial service in Multan and Gujranwala as well, to give the people a taste of the seamless connectivity and speed being offered by the operator.
This trial 3G service is going to remain free for at least 10 days, we have confirmed with Ufone. Company said that it will notify users in respective cities to communicate them the end of trial duration. After free trials, customers can select from variety of 3G packages offered by Ufone.
Ufone said that it will allow 10 free trial days with free 3G service in each city before commercially launching the service there.
“It is imperative for the progress of Pakistan that we ensure advancement in the telecommunication service, in-line with the global trends.” said Taimur Faiz Cheema, GM Marketing at Ufone.
To enjoy the service, the customers simply need to switch their networks from 2G to 3G or from GSM to WCDMA, after which they will be able to experience ultra- fast speeds for the first 200 MBs, whereas a reduction in speed would be experienced up to 128kbps after that, to facilitate all customers, which will be notified to the customer via an SMS.
All customers switching to the service will be notified via an SMS, to inform them about the service activation.
Prepaid and postpaid customers will be able to benefit from the trial 3G service.

They are giving the people 3G to make them addicted. Similarly, when a drug smuggler cames in the country, and he gives the people free of cost drug, but later the person become addicted, and then addicted person can buy the drug at any cost. This is the same situation with the free trial 3G.

#Ufone 3G bombastic speed on downloading using Internet Download Manager by making phone work as WiFi Hotspot couldn’t believe at the first moment.
The city is Multan and phone is Huawei Ascend G700
I resides in Misri Shah, Lahore but there is no Ufone 3G Coverage here. So, I want Ufone first to cover one city completely then proceeds to other cities, rather than just giving partial coverage to a number of cities.
Is it still free?
Can anybody confirm?
Because I received an sms today of 1 MB = 20Rs. Charging :)
