Mobilink Rising Star Regional Finals Concluded

Mobilink Rising Star Competition 2014 regional finals concluded in Islamabad, Lahore and Topi (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa).

The inter-university competition was held between HEC recognized institutes from across Pakistan. It was aimed at providing students with an opportunity to showcase their talent to bring a positive change to the society through passion, leadership and innovation.

Winners of the Grand Finale to be held in Islamabad next week will win local or foreign learning opportunities of their choice worth PKR 500,000 along with attractive prizes and accolades.

Sadia Ahmad, Vice President Human Resources, Mobilink commenting on the launch said, “Mobilink Rising Star 2014 is part of Mobilink’s strategy to nurture the spirit of passion, leadership and innovation in the youth. I wish the all the teams best of luck for the Grand Finale and I am confident that learning from this competition will go a long way in their academic and professional careers.”

Earlier in May 2014, the competition kicked off with information sessions at top ranking universities which resulted in registration of more than 240students. These students competed in a video competition with the theme of creating ‘A Better Everyday’ through Telecommunications, Education and Community Welfare.

60 students were short-listed from the video competition for the Regional Finals whereGhulam Ishaq Khan Institute, LUMS, NUST Business School and Bahria University were declared the winners. These teams will compete against each other in the Grand Finale in Islamabad later this month.

The winners of the Grand Finale will be rewarded with local/ foreign learning opportunities of their choice worth of PKR 500,000. Other prizes include internship slots, training workshops, electronic gadgets, opportunity to be featured in Mobilink’s employer branding video and membership of the Mobilink Foundation.
