HP Unveils The World’s Thinnest Business Laptops

HP has announced the world’s slimmest and lightest business-class laptops in the world with the reveal of the new Elitebook Folio 1020 and the Elitebook Folio 1020 Special Edition (SE). Both the laptops have a 15.7mm waistline and weigh just around 1 kg, depending on the model (with the latter being slightly heftier).

To begin with, they both have 12.5″ touchscreens, with the standard model having a 1080p panel while the SE going all the way to quad HD. The design is also gorgeous with a reusable carbon-fiber and magnesium alloy finish. Under the hood, you have an Intel Core M processor (which gives you a 9 hour battery life), 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB worth SSD. Other features include 720p webcams and DTS Studio Sound. A consequence of the width, they do lack a cooling fan.

Being business-class laptops, both also come with a portfolio of security features, including a finger-print scanner, pre-boot authentication, certified Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2/2.0 and HP’s Sure Start self-healing BIOS.

They have also passed all the military-grade tests, meaning they would last you for a long time. Prices are not revealed at this moment in time but that shouldn’t be the case for long. The standard edition will hit the market in February next year while the special “SE” version will make you keep you from waiting till April.
