Sony’s M5 and C5 Ultra Are Super Mid Rangers With a Focus on Selfies

Sony has announced a couple of new additions to its Xperia line of smartphones. The new phones are what the company calls ‘super mid range’ and have a very heavy focus on taking good pictures whether they are selfies or your vanilla ones.

Sony Xperia M5:

The Xperia M5 comes in a compact package with some features which would be more at home on a high-end smartphone.

It comes with a 13 megapixel 1080p camera at the front while the back boasts a 21.5 megapixel sensor, with lightning fast 0.25 second autofocus, LED, 4K video recording and f/2.2 aperture.

The front comes with a 5” display with 1080p display, which is fine for the display size. The M5 also comes with dust and water-proofing, thanks to IP65 and IP68 certification. More importantly, you get a capless USB port, meaning you won’t have to fiddle with your caps anymore.

Under the hood, you get a 2 Ghz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor, with 3 GB RAM, 16 GB RAM and a microSD. You also get NFC, optional Dual SIM, LTE, Wi-Fi and GPS.

The phone runs on a 2,600 mAh battery with 2 days backup, runs on lightly-customized Android 5.0 Lollipop and features an OmniBalance design with metal on sides and glass on the back.
