LG Announces the Budget G Pad II 8.0 LTE

While the tablet market is spiraling downwards, it appears that more a few companies believe that cheap is the way to go. The latest company to feel that way, LG has announced yet another budget 8” tablet, with the new G Pad II 8.0 LTE.

The tablet is largely the same as the non-LTE version, but has a few tweaks. The display is the same 8” IPS panel with 800 x 1,280 resolution. That’s unacceptable in every way, apart from the budget market, that is. At least it has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Perhaps the most-distinguishing feature of the slate is its stylus, which comes with a slot at the back so that you won’t lose it. The back also features a 5 megapixel camera, along with a 2 mp camera at the front.

For connectivity, a huge addition is a full-size USB port, which will allow you to plug your input devices right into your tablet. You also have GSM/3G/LTE support.

On the software side, you get Android Lollipop with features such as Microsoft’s Office Suite and several of other LG software additions, including KnockOn and QPair, which makes this a great tablet for students.

Pricing details are not known right now. It will hit the markets in the coming few weeks.
