DigiMark: Going Digital and Beyond

Digital arena has transformed all around the globe during the last decade. A large number of companies are now spending more on their digital marketing campaigns as compared to conventional marketing tools. The change is a result of increased use of social media and conversion of the desktops into hand-held devices.

Scenario in Pakistan is not so different, where majority of Brands have taken up digital marketing as an integral part of the system and have converged it with the conventional media. Particularly brands targeting the age group of 18-35 have realized the necessity of their presence on digital platforms, as a large portion of the population is present there.

The impact and reach of digital campaigns can be estimated from the popularity of our very own #ImadeIt by Nestle. Another grand campaign that captured many eyeballs is the World Cup Championship: Yehi Hai Jeenay Ka Maaza of Kashmir.

Still there is some reluctance witnessed in adaptation of new channels. Majority of the campaigns are not suited to multiple channels. Pakistani brands are now slowly, but gradually coming to terms with the changing trends and are determined to develop constant engagement with the consumer on social platforms.

According to TechCrunch, out of 1.49 billion Facebook Users, around 1.31 billion access it through mobile phones. Near future will compel the companies to have a mobile compatible interface. Launch of 3G and 4G in Pakistan has further supported the increase in mobile users. Easy access to internet and increasing use of hand-held devices is also responsible for causing the gradual disappearance of cash transactions worldwide.

Marketers are now curious to learn about the tools, techniques and latest trends in Digital Marketing. Many countries are trying to serve the cause by having conferences that specifically target digital marketing. Such conferences enable like-minded people to gather on a single platform, connect with industry leaders and gain the actionable insights in order to stay ahead of the curve.

DIGIMARK is the only conference held every year for the Digital Marketing fraternity in Pakistan. Its 4th iteration will be held on 24th November 2015 at Lahore where Digital Marketing experts will join us from the Asian region.
