PTCL Brings Online Gamers Together With Gaming Lounge Platform

In order to bring the local gaming community together, PTCL has announced its Gaming Lounge platform. The platform happens to be Pakistan’s first state of the art multiplayer gaming service. After holding a launch event on December 19 and 20 at Centaurus Mall, Islamabad, the service is now open to everyone.

What is PTCL Gaming Lounge?

According to the telecommunication company, the online multiplayer gaming experience is going to be unparalleled thanks to improved speeds and reduced latency. PTCL’s service is focused entirely for PC gamers who wish to have lag-free gaming experiences when they compete or team up with friends and fellow gamers over the internet.

This will also require you to have a fast speed internet connection, allowing the young generation to compete with local players. There are also a large number of gaming servers that you can look at to monitor the progress of which games are being played.

As for which games will be a part of the service, they have been listed as follows:

  • Counter Strike Global Offensive (CS GO)
  • Call of Duty 1 (COD 1)
  • Call of Duty 2 (COD 2)
  • Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (COD 4 MW)
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (COD: MW 2)
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (COD: MW 3)
  • Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (MOHAA)
  • Team Fortress 2
  • Minecraft
  • Battlefield 3 (BF3)
  • Grand Theft Auto San Andreas Multiplayer (SA: MP)

How to Get Registered with PTCL Gaming Lounge

In order to start playing, you will first have to register yourself by visiting this link. You will have to install the game client software on PC to get access to Gaming Lounge servers.

Requirements for using this service include users having a working telephone line as well as a subscription to any high-speed broadband packages. The Gaming Lounge is open to all users, not just PTCL’s. However, PTCL users can avail special discounts for the service.

PTCL has really done its homework by laying down a long list of rules and conditions that you will have to follow to the letter if you want to remain registered to the service. Currently, the service is open to everyone but after March 31, 2016, PTCL will be including charges. We’ll be updating you with further details when they become available.

The Dawn of a New Era for Pakistani Gamers?

As of right now, there have already been two tournaments held which luckily for the gamers, also included a cash prize, so it is possible that we could be seeing an influx of tournaments taking place in the future in order to come close to the competitive gameplay that we have continued to see on a global scale.

With this latest platform, looks like someone has finally started to give our gaming community the treatment that they rightfully deserve. Do let us know what you think of this latest service.

  • yeah … all the old gen games …
not saying they are bad , BUT , what about newer games.

just like everything else in Pakistan … another timid and backwardly thought step.
when on earth will they learn to step up AT ALL !

    • If you’re asking for newer titles like BF4/Hardline etc then that’s not gonna happen as EA isn’t interested, PTCL tried ;)

Other than that, they’re collaborating with Valve with regards to peering.

      • You will also need serious hardware to play the current games and looking at the current state of our country, there is majority of the population that is struggling to pay its bills let alone purchase high performance PC components. I believe it is time for AMD to tap into the Pakistan with full force.

        • agreed. Intel/Nvidia monopoly makes me sick … especially their crazy costs on BUDGET level components !

AMD will no doubt win over the market if it can manage to offer comparatively cheap and robust hardware !

          .

      • well ,
        TF2 released in 2007
        minecraft in 09
        BF3 in 2011
        CSGO in 2012

so , from a tech enthusiast’s point of view , yeah , they’re pretty old.
while minecraft and TF2 have no successors , BF3 is succeeded by BF4 released in 2013, they should focus on that before trying for BF 5 which is rumoured due for mid-late 2016 or 2017 altogether.
CSGO is somewhat new , considering its the latest release in the list you mentioned and my comment was originally aimed at CS 1.6 and CS Source , altho the 1.6 is a cult classic.
just go to PCgamer website, you’ll see how quick they are to rule out Hardware released BARELY a year ago as ‘old’ , ‘outdated’ and a ‘spent force’ . the mods over there finish even the lengthiest games in a week , tops. (not that i recommend such a gameplay , video games are meant to be enjoyed , not simply rushed thru.)

honestly speaking , this is what we lack as a nation… a progressive and forward-thinking mindset.

        • well active titles are not called old, also, from a gamer point of view its “gaming”
moreover, u must be knowing something called community open servers, so u know any game thats missed in the list above which has server software and good following in Pakistan? no .. so well its easy to say this is not present that is not present, first see wht can be done

          • well , someone HAS to change the mindset …
latest gen games need to be endorsed by actual local gaming communities…
pretty sure BF4 trumps BF3 if you’re calling for server software and sans the high end requirements , its a good game.
and ofcourse its easy to point out flaws , in a country where nothing is ever executed correctly …

and im pretty sure that this gaming lounge has been in existence for some time now … and not so renowned for what it should be.

have to concede the ‘active’ titles point tho. you got that one right. but it’d be great to see initiative being taken for games coming out recently …

            • please see what game developer and publishing companies are releasing when it comes to server software first for communities. bf4 and games u mentioned don’t have dedicated server software available
moreover, this is hardcore gaming in focus. u r missing the point,
What tournaments are being played most? this is going more towards eSpots like CSGO etc, heard of ESL? That’s how it all starts, also please see the interviews being taken , u can check PTCL official facebook account, from the way they are telling, it looks like they are going towards eSports and proper community gaming where masses paly including offline lan and online tournaments

              • oh .. wait.
                this is Esports focused ?!

i was thinking more like casual , just for fun multiplayer gaming. well in that case , you could bring up a 10 y.o game if its competitive in nature and suits the Esports scene…

well , either way , too bad. would be nice to have some casual servers for AAA titles.
Esports is a whole different thing altogether…

                • then start asking those game maker companies to 1st to release the dedicated server software if u want more game titles than blaming other companies who have nothing to do with that

                  • well we could always start small and humble … at home would be best .
its the small beginnings (Apple being started in a Garage by Jobs … and so on) which eventually go on to bud into a whole empire.

                    • have u even played games like csgo, btw it got its update a couple of days ago, sorry to say but u r not even knowing the competitive scene in gaming

                    • yeah , thats true … maybe you dint actually pay enough attention BUT i clearly wrote that i THOUGHT they were talking about CASUAL gaming servers…
so you should gain from that inference that i do not game competitively , hence my lack of knowledge in that sector.

                      there , happy ?

                    • if u would have visited their site u would have known wat it is all about and offering why :) and ppl do play these even minecraft casually which have community servers,….
even in non competitive scene, do u know any which have dedi servers for community which others can get, no :) :)

                    • gamers don’t do infighting and don’t discriminate , right ? so like i told Zeeky , it would be great to have some servers for casual gaming too … esp for games which do not have Esports potential…

                    • yasir name that game which has available servers one can run, which their game company distributes or allow? Well, simple answer is you do not know since there are none

                    • well , im not talking about the company distributing it to us …
more like a private server for Paki gamers … for better pings
i have heard of cracked servers , but i guess only pirated games work on those …

                    • Lol Do you even know what competitive gaming is go search CSGO And dota on Google It got millions in prize money and a career building esports we are always left behind on these opportunities
PGL have started something you should appreciate it why do want them to promote the games that in the end you are gona download from torrent and play for free casual gaming is for fun competitive game is more serious if you are a casual gaming there is no need to promote Their developers already do.

                    • i KNOW THAT GIST OF ESPORTS !!!!
im just not the hard-core gamer … i know about the CRAZY PRIZE POOL WORTH MILLIONS IN LOL AND DOTA tournaments (and so on for other games ) and the amount of people which watch OTHER PEOPLE PLAY GAMES ! I ALSO KNOW HOW THE WIDE-EYED ASIANS ARE DOMINATING THE LOL WORLD TOURNAMENTS AND BEATING WESTERNERS WHILE THEY ARE AT IT…

*sigh* i was trying to argue the case for casual gaming , since we DO NOT HAVE DEDICATED servers for MANY high-end games in Pakistan. the ping is terrible if u play in US and EU servers ! wouldn’t it be great to have those servers for us gamers too ? Gamers don’t have to discriminate , right ?

no need to teach me the basics bro , i have been gaming for a long time… just not competitively.

                    • Simple there are 2 communities in every game Casual and competitive if you want that there should be servers of new call of duties and etc there is an easy way just gather the Pakistani Players you Play with and request a server PGL always provide servers for any community but remember if you are the only player that is playing PGL will not continue Providing you with the free servers ofcourse there are a few games related to EA etc who did not release their dedicated server software & are not even interested PGL cant provide you with all the game servers but if there is a community even its casual or Competitive PGL Is willing to Provide you with servers. This is a group of PGL : https://www.facebook.com/groups/PakistanGamingLounge/ and you can also talk to the admins on PGL mumble server but remember we tried Games like h1z1 but the servers were empty all the time there was no point if you are playing that kind of a game that does not even have a small community like 10 Players PGL will shut down the server but you can still request it here on our Group : https://www.facebook.com/groups/PakistanGamingLounge/
we do not discriminate we PGL Main goal is to promote gaming but we cant open a server for just one guy you can represent your small community or number of friends who plays together and Request a server we did open servers for alot of games with user requests but as you know if we don’t see the results we will shut it down

  • Really!
They will start charging for what!
They only thing that will encourage me to Join this would be if they start giving CS:GO for free and that we know wouldn’t happen.

  • Very good initiative by PTCL. Looking forward to more organisation taking this E-sports community seriously. Wish you guys best of luck.

EDIT: Not saying this because I won 10K last weekend. :p

  • Great effort by Ptcl for promoting a game like csgo which is the 3rd Most Popular Competitive game in the world and finally getting some light shed on it by ptcl in Pakistan
Hopefully we will see Big Lan Tournaments for this game and Dota 2 also Incoming with PGL Guys you need to understand this is for Competitive Multiplayer Gaming Only

  • Jidhar PTCL or 150 minimum ping ho gaming servers udhar Bhala kia Online gaming krni hai?? DC ne zaleel kia hoa hai gaming ma jab bhi game khelo net ko moot par jati hai.

  • if you all havent realized by now. ptcl throttles all streaming(vimeo,YouTube, anime websites) and google related traffic including playstore and only sets them free after midnight.

  • ofcourse brother , it doesnt have to be for one guy.
there’s an upward trend in Pakistani gaming … but im sure not everyone plays for their Esports dream … people play the game for the very basic purpose they were built for i.e to have fun !

H1Z1 will explode once it goes F2P and pretty sure we’ll have hundreds of thousands of players from here playing that badass game !

thanks for the info … i just have on question , does PGL cater to original games only or can players with Pirated copies also get connected to the PGL servers ?

    • Mostly PGL Try to Cater to original games e.g PGL is running CSGO on Steam and everyone playing in their server must own an original copy of CSGO but in some games like cod4 people do not want to spend money so the servers they have hosted can be accessed by both cracked and original version of the game it actually depends on the majority since csgo is updated every week there is no point in having a cracked version of the game and since its the most popular fps in the world and have alot of money in it PGL try to stay updated with the world so we might represent Pakistan Some day in Dota & CSGO

  • We don’t need these local gaming servers. All we need is better ping which can be done through better routing directly to South East Asia & not via europe for god sake !! stop wasting your time on these bullshit gaming local servers. Just give us better routing.
