ASUS Impresses with New and Premium Zenfone 3 Models

At the Computex 2016 event being held in Taipei, the Taiwanese giant ASUS announced three new Android smartphones: the ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Deluxe and ZenFone 3 Ultra.

These three models share a basic common design language, with ASUS throwing some neat visual touches to distinguish them from each other. The base model for instance, comes with a combination of metallic frame and 2.5D glass panels, delivering a premium look overall.

Lets take a look at what Asus has in store for us.

ASUS Zenfone 3

It’s the first phone to officially pack the mid-range Snapdragon 625, which is based on a 14nm process, with eight Cortex-A53 cores capped at 2 GHz. Its 3,000 mAh battery should last for quite some time.

Its speaker at the bottom has been upgraded with a loud “5-magnet” driver powered by an NXP smart amp. It is also Hi-Res Audio-certified for headphone output. The Zenfone 3 comes with a new feature – a USB Type-C port. It is the first ASUS phone to come with the new USB standard. Another addition is the new fingerprint sensor on the back, located at the center of the spin-metal finish.

ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe

The Deluxe variant is the first smartphone to use Sony’s 23-megapixel IMX318 sensor. It comes with some improvements from the base model such as Snapdragon 820, 6 GB RAM and more. Its body features a metal unibody case with subtle curves on the back, for better ergonomics.

The Ultra edition of the Zenfone 3 is designed for the power users who want the very best. The 6.8 inch display, 23 MP camera and the 4600 mAh battery are housed under a a flat metal unibody that is decorated with a chamfer, leading to a more solid look than the other models.
