HEC to Launch Training Program for Teachers with USAID Collaboration

Serving teachers can now apply for an in-service program courtesy of Higher Education Commission (HEC) and USAID.

The program’s objective is to provide training that can help teachers improve their skills and knowledge while on the job, with the help of modern teaching practices.

Details about the Training Program

About 21 Faculty of Education buildings have been constructed. Upgradation of all provincial colleges have been done and about 60 PhD and Masters Scholarships have being provided for the program as well.

This was stated by Dr. Mahmood-ul-Hasan Butt, HEC Consultant, at a recent meeting of representatives of Federal and Provincial Public Service Commissions and Provincial Secretaries of higher education on Wednesday.

The meeting stressed the need for aligning teacher education in Pakistan with professional degree levels. Dr. Mahmood also stressed the need to blend new knowledge with newly-introudced ADE and B.Ed programmes.
