Following a fake minister, NAB official, judge, NADRA official and currency notes, now we have news about fake bank deposits. A bizarre series of events have taken place where politicians holding key positions in the National Assembly of Pakistan have received bank deposit receipts worth hundreds of millions of rupees.
Ayaz Sadiq, Raza Rabbani, Khursheed Shah, Aitzaz Ahsan, Fazl ur Rehman received the deposit slips
Initial reports state that the Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani and Opposition Leader Khursheed Shah have claimed receiving these fake bank deposits receipts. Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, Maulana Fazl ur Rehman and some other parliamentarians have also figured in this episode as well.
When Khursheed Shah arrived in his office, his staff put a TDR (term deposit receipt) in front of him. The receipt said that Rs. 100 million had been deposited in his SME Bank account in Karachi. Shocked and worried, Khursheed Shah immediately expressed his ignorance on the matter saying he had no relation to this.

He asked his staff to contact the bank and confirm. The bank revealed that no such receipt had been sent by them. Following this, the Opposition Leader wrote a letter to the FIA to investigate the matter.
Just like the opposition leader, Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani also received an SME bank slip stating that Rs. 100 million had been deposited into his bank account. Rabbani inquired about the matter and called the receipt a fake.
“This bank receipt is fraud, I don’t have an account in that bank,” – Senator Raza Rabbani
Even the Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has said that some strange transactions worth millions of rupees have taken place in his account. He has written to the Governor State Bank to investigate the matter and immediately act on it. The speaker was informed by the State bank that these transactions are fake. Ayaz Sadiq also claimed that he doesn’t have an account in the bank for which he has received the deposit certificates.

All politicians, after claiming that these were fake transactions, have asked the FIA to investigate the matter and get control of the situation immediately.
