Update: Yasir Shah Breaks Another World Record [Video]

Update:

He’s done it. Yasir Shah took the wicket of Lahiru Thirimanne to reach the 150-wicket milestone.

With this wicket, he has become the joint second fastest bowler in the history of Test cricket to reach the 150-wicket milestone. He made the achievement in his 27th Test match.

He’s accompanied by the great Waqar Younis. who also reached the milestone in 27 matches.

You can take a look at the memorable wicket here.

Yasir took the wicket in his fifth over when Thirimanne tried play a rash shot over mid wicket.

Pakistan’s latest leg-spin sensation, Yasir Shah is all set to achieve yet another milestone in Test cricket.

The spin wizard, despite being an automatic selection, had to do a lot of hard work to make his way into the team following his failure to pass the Yoyo fitness test.

Luckily, the leg-spinner has passed the fitness test with a score of 17.5 which is definitely not ideal, but good enough to earn him a place in the squad against Sri Lanka.

Yasir Shah is currently sitting pretty with 149 scalps in just 26 test matches with the best bowling figures of 7/76.

Shane Warne’s favorite leg-spinner of the current era, Yasir Shah is one wicket away from equalling the record for the fastest 150 wickets, previously held by Pakistani legend speedster Waqar Younis, who achieved the feat in 27 matches.

Yasir Shah has the opportunity to bring up the milestone against a weaker-looking Sri Lankan team. He will also become the fastest spinner to 150 wickets, breaking Saeed Ajmal’s record, who stormed to 150 wickets in 29 matches.

The 31-year old has already taken 11 5-wicket hauls in his short test career, which began against Australia in 2014. Yasir Shah is also the joint second fastest to 100 test wickets, achieving the feat in 17 matches.

Having lost his limited over spot in the side to the rookie leg-spinner Shadab Khan, Yasir Shah will be eager to make a statement.

He last played a test match at Roseau, on May 10-14, 2017 where he took the second-last-over wicket to earn his side the first clean sweep against West Indies at their home.

Yasir Shah also claimed the ‘Test Cricketer of the Year’ award at the PCB Awards held recently.

Yasir Shah is currently ranked 15 in the test bowlers rankings. He would definitely like to get back into the top 10 list.

  • Pathetic. A loser getting a record. This land produced Abdul Qadir, Saqlain Mustaq, Mustaq Ahmed, Saeed Ajmal. This clown hogs all the lime light.

    • Wrist (Leg) spinner, chuck nahi karta… Wrist (Leg) spinner pe kabhi pabandi nahi lag sakti… :)

      • Don’t worry, ICC will find some new way to put ban on PAK players. That’s what ICC is good at cheating, liar, deceit and falsely accusing players of chucking like in Saeed Ajmal and Muhammad Hafeez cases.
