These Miracle Smoothies Are Perfect for Weight Loss [Recipe]

You may have probably rolled your eyes at the title of this post. And you may be right.

Weight loss is tough, and there can be no simple way around it. That slimming tea you purchased, toss it in the trash. It won’t work. And you can never take medication to lose weight.

There is only one formula to weight loss, and that is this: the number of calories you consume must be less than the number of calories you burn.

This is, of course, the great predicament of all food-lovers. Especially those who can’t squeeze exercise into their busy routine.

But there comes a point in every tale of weight loss where it just stops. Those last few pounds, they’re called.

But not to worry. Help is on the way.

Miracle Smoothies

One Eid day, after partaking in more than my fair share of salty food, I needed something that could take care of those extra calories extra quick.

To do that, I tried out this miracle smoothie, and lo and behold – those feelings of bloatedness were banished to oblivion.

As it happens. the quick fix to combating that bloating feeling is massive quantities of water — and what better source of that than cucumbers? I added the rest of the ingredients to my miracle smoothie on a mere whim, and did not realize their potential until much later.

But you know what, once you drink this smoothie, you’ll end up feeling a lot lighter. Its even better when you aren’t stuffed with food as well.

The results were amazing. It has been my guilt riddance formula ever since — and the ingredients are common household items that are very easy to find.

Ingredients
  • Cucumber (One large, or three small — whichever’s available)
  • Ginger (you choose however much you want)
  • Lemon Juice (One large lemon or three smaller ones)
  • Apple (one green or red, whichever one you want)
  • A cup of water

Preparation

Blend all these ingredients! Its that easy.

The Science of It

You see, there are two types of foods: negative calorie and empty calorie.

Empty calorie foods like burgers, pizza and other unhealthy but delightful things do not provide energy but contain massive amounts of calories. Negative calorie foods provide a lot of energy — and burn more calories than they contain!

All foods with high fiber content use up a lot of energy to digest. Because of this, they usually end up burning a lot of calories before they even make it into your stomach.

Cucumbers are fiber and water, both of which are essential for weight loss.

Apples are for taste, and also because they are negative calorie foods. Red apples make the smoothie more taste bud friendly, but you could go for green apples if you’re really committed.

Lemon juice is citric acid. It curbs sugar cravings, and contains pectin, which helps you feel full for longer.

Ginger is the real ingredient, and also the only one that tastes bad. The more you add, the more you lose (and the more difficult the smoothie becomes to drink).

Pro Tip

Have a soon nearby and mix this mush every once in a while as you drink it. Otherwise, you’ll end up with a giant pulp of green at the bottom of your jar — and bottoms up won’t work.

Alternative (Also Miracle) Smoothie

But what do you do if you’ve run out of cucumbers? Well, tomatoes are fiber and water too, so they’re just as good! Replace cucumbers with tomatoes and follow exactly the same procedure as before for a red twist to your smoothie.

 

Primarily, you’re going to lose your water weight, but you’re not going to gain it back too quickly, so this formula actually works. Pair it with exercise and get in shape in no time!
