Habib Metro Bank Appoints Mohsin Nathani as President and CEO

Habib Metro Bank has appointed Mahsin Ali Nathani as the new president and Chief Executive Officer.

He will be replacing Sirajudding Aziz, who has been elevated to another assignment within the Group.

Nathani will take charge in the second quarter of 2018, pending the State Bank’s approval.

Nathani is a seasoned corporate banker with over 25 years of experience, covering Asia, Middle East, and the Levant regions.

He was the CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Pakistan before moving to Standard Chartered PLC, UAE as CEO. Before that, he was the Country Head and Managing Director for Barclays Bank Pakistan.

Prior to that, he was Head of Emerging Market Corporate Banking for the Middle East of Citigroup.

He was instrumental in obtaining an organic banking license for Barclays in Pakistan in 2007 and then successfully launching it, along with his team, in July 2008.

Before heading towards Pakistan, he joined Barclays in Dubai in May 2007 as the Head of Commercial Business for Global Retail and Commercial Banking, Emerging Markets.

Nathani holds an MBA degree from IBA, Karachi. He started his professional life in 1988 with ICI Pakistan. He began his banking career in 1989 with Citigroup in Karachi.

Nathani joined ABN Amro Holding NV in 1993 before returning to Citigroup in 2000.

He recently served as a Director of Price Solution Pakistan (Private) Limited. He is also on the boards of Pakistan Council for Philanthropy, British Oversees School, I-CARE and a trustee in IBA endowment fund.
