Fakhar Zaman, Amir Win Awards for Best ODI Performance of the Year

The leading name in cricket, ESPNCricinfo has released the list of players who made a mark in the year 2017.

The yearly awards saw both the One Day International (ODI) titles grabbed by Pakistani players including Fakhar Zaman and Muhammad Amir for their brilliant performances in the Champions Trophy 2017 final leading their team to triumph for the first time ever.

ODI Batting Performance of the Year

Fakhar Zaman’s brilliant century in the big final of Champions Trophy against arch-rivals India won him the award for the best performance of the year.

Considering that it was just his fourth match and he was playing against an unbeatable Indian side added more weight to his performance.

ODI Bowling Performance of the Year

Mohammad Amir’s spellbinding bowling display in the Champions Trophy final helped him overcome the likes of Rashid Khan (7-18), Trent Boult (6-33), Akila Dananjaya (6-54) and a few others. He dismantled the Indian top order which eventually crumbled to lose by a hefty margin of 180 runs.
