Pakistan’s fast bowler, Mohammed Irfan, has struggled to maintain his place in the national team. However, his recent performance for Multan helped overcome Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) by 7 wickets to storm into the semi-finals of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Grade-II cricket.
Thanks to his height, Irfan managed to keep all the AJK batsman on their toes. His vicious bounce paired with his quick pace enabled him to pick up 5 for 18 and wrap up the innings in just 91 minutes. He took 2 wickets in the first innings as well.
AJK’s skipper, Sardar Hassan Raza, was the only person who managed to reach double figures with 11 before being run out. Overall, AJK’s innings included five ducks while the innings lasted for 20 overs.

Although Irfan’s name was excluded from the list of squad announced for the England and Ireland series, performance such as these are always going to help the player in changing the mind of the selection committee.
The combination of Mohammad Amir, Hasan Ali and Rahat Ali is expected to feature in the upcoming series which will take place in the next month.
