Nearly 50 Areas Blocked as Authorities Prepare for Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz’s Arrival

The former prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, and his daughter, Maryam Nawaz, are expected to land at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport at 6:15 PM today. Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz were recently sentenced to 10 and 7 years in prison following the Avenfield case verdict. The authorities are expected to arrest both individuals as soon as they land at the airport.

In this regard, the administration is making preparations to avoid any hindrance and unrest during the arrest. According to a notification that is circulating on different platforms, as much as 50 points across Lahore will be blocked with containers to prevent people from coming to the airport.

Lahore Police has already sealed several roads leading to the airport to stop the political party’s workers from going to the airport.
