November 9 Is Not A Holiday: Interior Ministry

A spokesperson for the Interior Ministry has issued a clarification that the ministry has not issued any notification about November 9 being a public holiday.

The rumors about November 9 being a public holiday have no authenticity. In fact, the State Minister for Interior, Shehryar Afridi, said in the National Assembly, “Naya Pakistan’s vision is to work seven days a week, 24 hours a day.”

He went on, “Prime Minister Imran Khan and federal cabinet have not taken a day off.”

Pakistan celebrates Iqbal Day on November 9 as a tribute to Allama Muhammad Iqbal, who gave the idea of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent.
