    My love Ubuntu.
    But openSuse is also good for users porting from XP.

    Very sad but it works correctly on Dell and Gatway Laptop.
    May u please tell me which version u tried to install? nd specifications of your laptop.

    Core i 3 2.53GHz - 3GB DDR3 - 320GB - 1 GB ATI HD
    I have tried 10.10 and 10.04 it hangs on the purple loading screen.

    Are you using the alternate cd? I never use desktop, I always use alternate and install in "expert" mode.
