Through one of my friends in Software Technology Park, known as Evacuee Trust Complex in Islamabad, learned that Evacuee Trust administration has sent them a notification to vacate the building in 7 days. He told me that there are almost a dozen companies, including Avenir Technologies, Cogilent Solutions, LMKR and many others, who were served with such a notice.
Notice that informs software companies that their current lease agreement is void, and they must pack up their businesses and get the hell out of this building. In my friend’s case their lease was renewed on January 1, 2008, which was likely to last till December 31, 2009.
Very interesting situation, I guess even the ‘Pan Shop’ landlords follow the agreements that they signed. However, in this case Evacuee Trust administration says that the person, they call it resident engineer, who signed the agreement was not authoritative enough to act like that. Hence the agreement is simply cancelled.
In my personal opinion, either they are kidding or maybe fooling little late in June instead of April. How one can just windup his/her business in seven days? And we know that there are companies with over 500 employees in there…millions of investment!
We use to hear about our cousins or neighbors being asked by landlords to vacate places, which at end they normally increase the lease amount by 10 to 20 percent and settle down. Maybe this is one such case?
I am not sure where this issue is going to end up… Authorities concerned should act sensible, and help these IT ventures to produce some results.

WHEN WARID START THEIR SERVICES IN PAKISTAN, THEY SAYS THAT THEY HAVE COME TO BEAR A LOSS UPTO 10 YEARS IN PAKISTAN.

WHEN WE LOAD A SCRATCH CARD OF ANY COMPANY LIKE TELENOR, SUPPOSE OF 100 RS, THEN WE RECEIVED THE 91.91 RS IN OUR BALANCE AFTER DEDUCTING TAX OF ALMOST 9.1%. AND WHEN WE MAKE A CALL OR SEND SMS ETC, THEN SUPPOSE IF RATE OF SMS IS 1 RS, THEN TELENOR CHARGED, 1.15 RS PER SMS, WHICH MEANS, 15% tax! when we sum the taxes then 15%+9.1%= 24.1%!
and warid says, get your same balance which is on the face value of scratch card, like if we load 100 rs card we will be recieve 100 rs in our balance, but the charged the tax upon card with each and every call, in other words they charge such tax, with calls we made, which means they should charge 24.1% tax as whole like others like telenor!
but they are charging almost 26.5% tax & some times 27%!
the rate of sms from warid to other network as example of poof of this deduction is, the rate of sms is 1 rs, but they deduct 1.27 rs, which means 27% tax!
AND IF WE SEE AS A WHOLE THEY ARE CHARGING AN EXTRA AMOUNT OF 2.40 RS ALMOST ON EVERY 100 RS CARD!
AND THEY HAVE ALMOST MORE THAN 1 CRORE CUSTOMERS, IF 25,00,000 (25 LAC) CUSTOMERS LOAD A 100 RS CARD THEN ITS MEAN THEY ARE CHARGING AN EXTRA AMOUNT OF 2.40X2500000= 6000000 ( 60 LAC) DAILY AND 6000000*12=72000000 ( 7 CRORE 20 LAC) RS ANNUALLY!
THEN HOW THEY CAN SAY THAT WARID ” WE CARE”, AND THEY ARE COME FOR INITIAL LOSS? HOW THEY CAN PROVIDE BENEFIT PEOPLE? THEY ARE ONLY LOOTING ALL PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN!
