We are told by very reliable sources that Orascom has assigned Mr. Rashid Khan, the new CEO of Mobilink – While Mr. Zouhair Khalid was asked to report Cairo based Orascom Headquarter.
Our Orascom sources have confirmed this news however, Mobilink spokesman preferred not to comment anything over the issue.
Pakistani National, Mr. Rashid Khan was serving Banglalink as CEO, Orascom’s arm in Bangladesh. He has been part of Mobilink as well and has served Mobilink from 2004 to 2006 as Chief Commercial Officer. That was the time when Mobilink Reached from 5 million customers to 20 million.
Analysts term this change due to dropping position of Mobilink, in terms of revenues and customers as well. It may be recalled that Mobilink has been consistently loosing customers lately. While on the other hand as Mobilink’s head, Mr. Khaliq was unable to control the operating expenses, which significantly went up due to liverish style that is now identity of Mobilink.

We are also told that we may see major re-shuffle in Mobilink’s higher hierarchy in coming couple of weeks.

having current declining figures of mobilink it not unexpected. moreover after having such bad repute of mobilink, nobody seems to have sudden success for Orascom.

Mobilink is still a market leader and holds 47% of the market share. Still the Mobilink network is the best network in the country. Mobilink should improves the packages. Marketing strategy also needs a lot of improvement.

Mobilink has 35& market share. It used to be 65% few years ago. Since Telenor and Warid came to Pakistan Mobilink share went down significantly and they are losing subscriber every quarter. ZK was asked to leave Mobilink.

I am belonging to Gumbus Broz, District and Tehsil Chitral and have a suitable land which can be ideal for communication towers/poles and sub poles and boosters. Although Mobilink tower is already installed in Ayun area, which is not enough for the whole surrounding areas i-e Broz, Domon,goldeh,atani and other big villages have no network. Above said areas may contribute in huge and substantial revenue generation for Mobilink. As we are right in the middle of the district.
My owned land is situated in Gumbus Broz, since the engineers of Telenor and Warid surveyed and approved the same vicinity and installed their towers, (western side of my land). Here I would like to offer my land for Mobilink upcoming projects, and you may send the engineers to check the coordination.
