A public information notice issued by Warid PR Officials confirm “Warid Telecom (Pvt.) Ltd. has not abolished the PR department and there is absolutely no massive retrenchment going on.” The PR Officials have further confirmed that the former spokesperson of Warid Ms Farah Hussain is no longer part of Warid Telecom (Pvt.) Ltd. w.e.f 30th March 2009. Any statement quoted with her name does not have any official linkage with Warid Telecom (Pvt.) Ltd.”
The PR Officials also said “Warid has high ambitions and the recent changes in the organizational structure are aimed to achieve the high performance culture, environment and result driven systems. The company has lucid understanding of its direction and the measures to achieve its vision.”
While confirming the appointment of new C.E.O that will soon be officially announced the PR officials also said “Warid Telecom (Pvt.) Ltd. is one of the major providers of mobile communications services in Pakistan, and has recently injected $250million equity (equivalent Rs. 20 billion) by its joint shareholders that are Abu Dhabi Group and SingTel. It clearly reflects the confidence of shareholders in the Company’s management and its operational plans. This investment is one of the major milestones achieved towards the long term strategic goals of Warid Telecom in Pakistan.
Warid telecom has aggressively penetrated the Pakistan mobile communication services market with huge capital expenditure, which has enabled to capture market share of 18.95% (as of Feb 09’) and coverage in over 450 cities and 7200 towns across Pakistan furthermore the officials added “We are determined to deliver the exceptional services to our valuable customers and we believe in Quality of network and this is the strength that makes Warid uniquely distinguish from all other network operators – We are in the race to gain more numbers but in our priorities it comes Quality of Network at first and then an exciting customer service with exceptional products and the one recently offered by Warid ‘60 Paisa’s has totally grabbed the market interest.”
