Infomercial culture in Pak Startups

With everyday emerging creative web startups in Pakistan, the entrepreneurs are bringing in new techniques to spread the word around. If we analyze the promotion tactics of the Pakistani Startups, most of them rely on Publicity/Word of mouth and internet advertising i.e. Adsense etc.

These days, the buzz and the new techniques to get the user familiar with the service is Infomercials / Web-infomercials or video intros.

Infomercials or Web-infomercials are consisted on short movie clip/ animation that explains about the product or service. The benefits of an infomercial or web-infomercial are:

  • It attracts the new users
  • It is sticky because a new user doesn’t have to go through the boring ‘About’ information to know about it.
  • Helps spread the word around through various video portals.

I have seen the infomercials / web intros on many Pakistani web based startups but those that were attractive, I am mentioning them below:
