Mobilink is the only cellular operator to be honored with the 6th Environmental Excellence Award by the National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH).
The award comes in recognition of Mobilink’s environment-friendly initiatives including tree plantation drive led by Mobilink employees, production and distribution of recycled schoolbags from used billboard skins to more than 25,000 children, Mobilink’s Handset Recycling Initiative, implementation of E-billing initiative and. Moreover, earlier this year, Mobilink also organized a nation-wide cleanliness drive to celebrate Earth Day.
Omar Manzur, Director Public Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility, Mobilink shared, “As the industry leader, Mobilink has always been at the forefront in promoting sustainable business practices and promoting environment friendly initiatives. Our ecological initiatives are deeply embedded in our corporate culture where each employee participate with high spirit and will continue to do the same. The Annual Environment Excellence Awards are the benchmark for environmental standards in Pakistan and have been instituted to recognize and promote organizations which make an outstanding contribution to sustainable development. The award is slated to be presented on 9th July, 2009, during the 6th Annual Environment Excellence Awards ceremony organized by Publicity Chanel at a local hotel in Karachi.
This year, NFEH will be awarding 49 best environment friendly companies of Pakistan including Mobilink. An Interactive Dialogue on “Environment Management” will also be held prior to the award ceremony. The prominent speakers including Dr. Sami uz Zaman , Dr. Kaiser Waheed Chairman NFEH, M. Naeem Qureshi President NFEH, Zaheer Baig Chief Advisor NFEH will speak on various topics.
