Synergy of Oldie’s Experience and Youngsters’ Ideas

By Muhammad Uzair

This article cum proposal is especially written for fresh business graduates and post-graduates of Pakistan.

In Pakistani culture, most parents and children live together. Some of the middle-class families have well established businesses of wholesale, retail, import/export and/or manufacturing where fathers and grand fathers work. They have a working experience of more than 30 to 40 years of age.

For those, who are fresh business graduates or postgraduates, they have education of 16 to 18 years with less working experience than elders but are good in creative ideas and thinking.

Youngsters have less working experience but a bulk of creative ideas. On the other hand, oldies have more experience but may have less creative ideas.

Here comes the idea of Synergy, which is defined as the combined power of a group of things when they are working together which is greater than the total power achieved by each working separately.

It means that combined output of younger’s creative ideas and elder’s experiences are more than the total output of each working separately.

It can be best understood as 1+1=3 or more than 3.

There is an existence of job-craze in fresh business graduates but if they have their own family business, it is advised that they must work with their elders, promote their family business and act like entrepreneurs.
