Another Network of Illegal Exchanges Got Busted

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and FIA National Response Center for Cyber Crimes (NR3C), Islamabad has unearthed two illegal international VoIP gateway exchanges in F-6 and F-7 Islamabad. Three foreigners have been arrested during the seizure of these illegal exchanges.

This initiative is a part of the pursuance of PTA efforts against illegal telecom traffic and seventh successful raid in Islamabad. During the raid PTA and FIA team recovered 11×8 GSM tellulars, 4 GSM media gateways and 1x router, 4 switches and more than hundred GSM antennas

PTA detected illegal setups through the Technical Facility installed to monitor the illegal business of telecom throughout the country. Upon investigation and confirmation, successful raids were conducted by PTA and FIA at Islamabad and operational international exchanges were seized. Mobile connections which are being used in GSM devices employed by terminating international calls brought via Grey routes is a cause of loss of rupees to national exchequer.

Chairman PTA Dr. Mohammed Yaseen said that these illegal operations of grey traffic has caused loss of millions of rupees in the last four month to the national exchequer. Chairman PTA also warned all whether licensee or non licensee those involved in illegal / grey telecom traffic to stop such unlawful activities, otherwise strict action shall be initiated against them as per the law

“Chairman PTA Dr. Mohammed Yaseen said that these illegal operations of grey traffic has caused loss of millions of rupees in the last four month to the national exchequer”

Awww! whats a few million for the “National Exchequer”. The pres. and PM each can alone consume those for a little chai and aloo chhola.
Its the commercial companies who want the easy juice coming in while it can, with the paid help of PTA and whoever matters.
More power to the “helpful” gateways, because thats the only way the lesson will be learned and Voip will become legal.
    Ma’as Salaam.

How you detect the gray network ?

Internet protocol Traffic on Gateway (Voice Traffic)
    Sim card Signals
    Human Intelligence

How can we help you to track and locate them in Lahore city?

Salman taseer, MQM, Rehman Malik and Our PM already working on it why you not take action against them.

Many Grays pay huge kickback to FIA and PTA and running that business why you not take action.

Because there is thousands of networks running in Pakistan under Govt. people umbrella.

No Way Justice for all otherwise nothing could be done!!!

    Thanks

If PTA allowed VOIP services in Pakistan. I would be paying some Pakistani for a virtual phone line instead of some company in NA to provide me per minute service. It will be a cheaper customer as well as more money coming in to Pakistan from overseas.
