What is the Discount?
Apply for the new landline connection and get a discount of Rs. 200 (on-net-calls) on every monthly bill for the next three months.
For example if you get a connection in December 2009, you will get discount until February 2010.

Normally, how long does it takes for installation after applying?
this one is nice, but one which offers free net for first month was also a good one.

Almost seven working days.
This offer doesn’t look better to me as PTCL already charging 200 rupess monthly tax landline. could attract masses if they remove tax from monthly bill for all existing and new customers.
Not an attractive offer for new customer ……. PTCL must review its policy to contain its existing customers. Must review its policy for its customers since 80’s and feeling ignorance, as PTCL is offering new customers of V-Fone Rs 600/- for unlimited call to V-Fone and all PTCL land-line phones and on the other hand looting its old customers by heavy bills more than Rs 2000/- including many tax just for local calls. PTCL must offer same packages for its old land-line customers.
They should discount the line rent thing :(
any chance of decline in price of dsl or increasing in bandwidth on same price from ptcl side?
good deal.. they should also decease TV & DSl charges
200 for one months .. the first time cost would be more than 200 rs that is discounted

they charge 700 for a new line, and 500 plus 700 for transfer of number to another exchange area..

Agar haan to yeh to bohut ziyada hain main ne takreban 6 months pehle pata kia tha uss waqt 750 charges thay. main Wireless use kerti hoon jo k bohut hi ziyada tang kera hai. 30 seconds ki video upload kerne lago to pore 2 hours laag jate hain….
MAin ne PTCL dsl k bare me suna hai k uss ka aik student package bhi hota hai jis per shaid 1 month k 800 RS hote hain….agar kisi ko uss k bare me pata hai to please zarooor bata day…..

This is something i knew from past, things might have changed so please confirm them, i am not sure here.
You do not need to pay anything just apply for the connection via online, helpline or by visiting exchange.
You will be charged around Rs. 800 security or whatever in the first bill plus line rent in addition to your monthly bill, after first bill the monthly bill as you use continues.
