Warid has clarified its position regarding a news published in Express Tribune with title ‘Khaliq to take charge at Warid’.
Warid has said that paper erroneously reported that Mr. Zuhair Khaliq has joined Warid Telecom as CEO.
Warid, in a communication with ProPakistani, officially confirmed that Mr. Muneer Farooqui who is the CEO of Warid Telecom continues to hold the office of the CEO.
It said that Mr. Zouhair A. Khaliq has joined as Board Director of Warid Telecom (Pvt.) Ltd.
After resignations from Mr. Bashir A. Tahir and Pervez Shahid there have been speculations that Warid and Wateen may undergo managerial changes, however, after Warid’s current stand it looks that Mr. Muneer Farooqui is going no where.
This shows one of the role media is playing, they just broadcast news on their own assumptions rather than confirming its authenticity..
Express Tribune is very weak in its reporting. There have been cases where they just publish the news without checking. Many a times, readers including myself have asked them to check facts.
This could be the prediction about CEO Munir Farooqui
Sooner or later(Might be within month) has to go
There will be big changes in both warid and wateen at SMT level or may be somewhere else :-)
