Jehanzeb Taj Leaves Mobilink

Mobilink_logoJahanzeb Taj, Vice President, Mobile Financial Services at Mobilink has decided to resign from his position to take up an international assignment in Haiti.

Jehanzeb had joined Mobilink as VP Sales in March 2009 and was later moved to head Marketing department as VP. Most recently, he was made Vice President of Mobile Financial Services in July 2012.

Interestingly, we had predicted the probable exit of Mr. Jehanzeb almost an year ago.

Previously, Jehanzeb had served Telenor for its sales department.

Mobilink has named Aniqa Afzal Sandhu as new Head of MFS (Acting). Aniqa has been with Mobilink since 2006, and launched Mobilink’s Mobile Financial Services division, under the brand name of Mobicash, in November 2012.

Aniqa would report to Bilal Sheikh, Chief Commercial Officer

She has been responsible for initiating and developing the MFS business at Mobilink, with oversight over MFS strategy, setting up of the dedicated Business Unit, proliferating organizational and group-wide awareness and buy-in and for introducing several pioneering Mobile Financial Services to the Pakistan market.

Aniqa is a graduate of the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).

  • This is what you guys ‘predicted’: According to what we have learned, Bilal Munir Sheikh, who is currently the vice president, marketing department, will be given the headship of sales department, while Jehanzeb Taj, who is currently heading the sales department will look after the marketing of Mobilink.

No where does it say he is leaving for Haiti! Stop acting like a tabloid please

    • We — while quoting the experts — had termed the move as vital and had said that this could be an exit for one of the two VPs. (bilal or Jehanzeb)

  • not a good sign…people like jahanzeb are made to leave and the likes of bilal sheikh are still there. the only time mobilink was meeting its targets was when jahanzeb was heading the marketing and since then they have always missed. Currently nearly Rs. 3B behind
