Mobilink Foundation has donated a purpose fitted Rescue Vehicle to Pakistan Life Savers Association (PALS) in a ceremony held at the NTO office in Karachi.
The vehicle will be used for transportation of lifeguards along the beach and quick transfer of beach-related accident victims to hospitals.
The vehicle has been fitted with a two-way radio which allows the lifeguards to remain in contact with the control center. The deployment of the vehicle is expected to cut down the lifeguard’s response time significantly and make surveillance of the Sand-Spit Coastline easier for the patrol captains.
Omar Manzur, Head of Corporate Communications, Mobilink said, “Mobilink’s on-going partnership with PALS is reflective of our commitment in making a difference in the community. I am confident that this partnership will contribute positively towards PALS efforts in patrolling the coast and allow us the opportunity to make a better every day for the community”
Mobilink and PALS initiated their partnership by conducting collaborated events in 2013.
PALS organized beach cleaning events for Mobilink volunteers in Karachi at Sea View last year. The events were attended by over 200 Mobilink Foundation Torchbearers. Mobilink Foundation has also provided 150 handsets with connectivity to help PALS rescue patrols maintain connectivity.
