LG’s V10 is a Stainless Steel Wonder with Dual Displays and Dual Cameras

LG has been one of the primary innovators when it comes to Android OEMs. From the flexible body of the G Flex and the back-button orientation of the G2, to the QHD display of the G3, its management has made sure that it stays relevant in this competitive environment.

In that quest, the latest effort is the new V-series line of smartphones, the latest of whom is the new and exciting V10 which takes an existing idea and tries to implement it in modern smartphones.

On surface, the phone might look extremely normal with a slightly elongated display with a couple of sensors but it is that way for a reason. Above its normal display is a secondary screen with 1040 x 160 resolution. It always remains on and consumes less than 5 percent of charge per day.

It mainly shows you your notifications, controls for quick access and the lot. But it is also customized to work inside apps to provide you with options which are normally activated via toggles. Accompanying it are two 5-megapixel cameras with different fields of view (120 and 80 degrees, respectively). They can’t shoot 3D but you can opt between them as your will and you even use them at the same time.

The rest of the phone is clearly inspired by the G4. The remaining 5.7” display comes with QHD resolution. The construction is done by stainless steel and silicone, while Gorilla Glass 4 is also home.

Under the hood, you get the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage, which can be expanded. The back boasts a 16-megapixel camera with 4K video recording, and a unique mode which engages all three cameras and mics at the same time.

A 3,000 mAh battery will power the two displays. It will be available in two different blues, white, black and biege this month in its home market, and in other locations later.
