Punjab is Transferring Control of All Ambulances to Rescue 1122

The Punjab government has announced that ambulances of all the public and private hospitals will now operate under Rescue 1122.

The decision was taken by CM Shahbaz Sharif in connection with improvement of Health Care System. The Health Department has also been instructed by the CM Shahbaz to present a comprehensive plan within the next seven days.

In the meeting where the decision was taken, it was announced that all the hospitals across the province will need to register their ambulances within a month. Hospitals failing to comply will have to pay a fine and actions will be taken against their management.

The move has been undertaken to stop the misuse of the ambulances. Moreover, through this policy, Rescue 1122 response times will improve in emergencies since a central database of all vehicles will be available.
