Rain Expected in Karachi from Tomorrow Till Eid

It seems that Karachi is in for another bout of heavy rains.

According to the Met Department, people living in Karachi will be getting an extended spell of rains starting on Tuesday. The rains are expected to continue till the Eid weekend.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department Director Abdul Rasheed, they can’t say for sure whether it will rain cats and dogs or just a drizzle here and there. However the Met Dept. can say for sure that the temperature will increase on Monday while the sea-breeze will stop on Tuesday.

Hyderabad, Badin, Tharparkar, Mithi will be getting heavy rainfall due to a storm system that is making its way to Pakistan from north-eastern India on Tuesday.

Flood Warning in Karachi

‘There is no threat of a hurricane but flash floods may occur in Karachi as the drains are not properly cleaned,’ said the Met Dept Director.

With Eid-ul-Azha coming up on Saturday, improper disposal of animal waste would clog the drains further, increasing the risk of floods on the weekend.

Weather Forecast for Other Areas

As for the rest of the country, mostly hot and humid weather is expected for most of Pakistan. A rain-thunderstorm is predicted at DG Khan, Malakand and Gilgit-Baltistan within the next 24 hours.

In the next 48 hours, the Met Dept predicts rains accompanied with a thunderstorm in Mirpurkhas and Gilgit-Baltistan.
