QMobile Pays Tribute to Legendary Misbah ul Haq

Cricket fever runs through the veins of every Pakistani and QMobile – one of Pakistan’s leading smartphone company – understands and embraces that.

QMobile teamed up with PTA to organize a cricketing event to pay tribute and give a farewell to Pakistan’s most successful Test skipper — Misbah ul Haq. The company also announced the 1st Telecom Cup, a cricket tournament between leading corporations and government organisations.

Mr. Zeeshan Akhtar, CEO and Chairman QMobile, was present at the event. Top leadership from Pakistani telcos, officials from PTA and Ministry of IT were also part of the occasion. A few cricket celebrities, including Saqlain Mushtaq and Muhammad Hafeez, were present at the event as well.

The inauguration ceremony for the Telecom Cup 2017 and the farewell event for Misbah took place at PAFSOM Arena, E-9, Islamabad.

Misbah, who retired from ODIs in 2015 and from Tests in 2017, said he was happy to be at the event and thanked QMobile for the honorable farewell.

Mr Zeeshan Akhtar said, “Misbah-ul-Haq has been an inspiration for every Pakistani. He indeed is our hero and it’s a great honor for QMobile to pay him tribute.”

Misbah was presented with a souvenir titled “Silent Guardian” along with a Rs. 1 million cheque as a token of gratitude for his services to Pakistan cricket.

QMobile also used its social media channels to honor the cricketing legend. Special graphics, which show Misbah in action were used to thank and to pay tribute to the former captain.

It’s heartening to see QMobile going above and beyond to pay tribute to a local cricketing legend who has contributed so much towards establishing and promoting cricket in Pakistan – and of course giving us so many thrilling moments with his performances.
