Why the Success of Pakistan Property Show Dubai Matters

By Remshay Ahmed

Dubai as a regional business and realty powerhouse is ideal for showcasing of emerging real estate markets from South Asia. At the same time, the very competitive nature of Dubai offers very little margin of error. You either make it big or get lost in a sea of exhibitions.

The same challenge awaited Pakistan Property Show Dubai by Zameen.com on October 20-21 at Za’abeel Hall 5 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The title of Pakistan affixed to the event’s name put even more burden on the organizers.

Zameen.com was not only taking a realty show to Dubai but was also the flag-bearer of the Pakistani brand. It was thus a matter of national pride.

Over fourteen thousand visitors, majority of them overseas Pakistanis, attended Pakistan Property Show over the two day event. The 50 exhibitors participating in the show were overwhelmed with the response and found their teams struggling to keep up with the waves of visitors.

The queues at the registration desks swelled as the event kicked into full swing and swarms of overseas Pakistani families, young couples and investors arrived at the show to find their ideal home or lucrative investment. One could see the exhibition hall buzzing with an energy that was un-mistakenly Pakistani.

The exhibitors, when approached for comments, were ecstatic. Mr. Mubashar Hayat CEO of EarthLink shared,

This is a marvelous effort by Zameen.com. It is a first of its kind, massive and huge event and many overseas Pakistanis have benefitted with this opportunity. Such events are essential in providing international exposure to Pakistani realty market. Hats off to a perfect exhibition and the professional team managing this event.

Lt. Colonel Abdul Wahid, Director Transfer of DHA Peshawar shared his first experience with Zameen.com exhibitions aboard the Pakistan Property Show,

I am really impressed with the exhibition arrangements by Zameen.com I was not expecting that so many people would visit us at the stall. I have not been able to even relax for a minute or to go have a meal. Overseas Pakistanis are visiting in huge numbers. All the credit goes to Zameen.com for putting together a fine show.

Mr. Imran from Etihad Town, which is a project of Etihad Holding, expressed his complete satisfaction,

Even though we have an office in Dubai we think Zameen.com has managed a very good show for all exhibitors. Even though it is a Friday when people are resting Zameen.com has managed to bring a strong response to the exhibition. We think Zameen.com should also go to other destinations across the world with Pakistan Property Show.

Over 1.5 million overseas Pakistanis reside in the UAE that remit US $4.3 billion annually to Pakistan – the second largest remittance share in the overall US $19.4 billion remittances every year.

Pakistan Property Show Dubai’s resounding success is proof that Pakistani realty enjoys great pull amongst overseas Pakistanis which holds tremendous potential for foreign direct investment (FDI). The show has successfully announced to the global investor and developer circles of the tremendous potential this US $700 billion worth Pakistani realty market offers.

The endorsement for Pakistan Property Show Dubai is an invitation to overseas Pakistani communities around the world. Indeed the success of Pakistan Property Show has opened the international market for Pakistani realty.

Similar sentiments were expressed by dignitaries gracing the show with their presence including the Chief Guest H.E. Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of Dubai Land Department, His Royal Highness Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Jamal Al Qasimi of the ruling family of Sharjah and H.E. Mr. Moazzam Ahmad Khan, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the UAE. CEO Zameen.com Mr. Zeeshan Ali Khan also expressed his gratitude and joy on the successful event,

This is the first ever exclusive event for Pakistani realty in Dubai. The whole idea behind Pakistan Property Show was to connect overseas Pakistanis with the Pakistani realty market. This entire initiative is for Pakistan itself. Moving forward we will plan a bigger event next time with up to 80-100 exhibitors and make it an annual event.

Zameen.com has already announced that they will be bringing Pakistan Property Show back to Dubai in 2018 with up to 100 exhibitors spread across two halls at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This goes to show the quality of response from the overseas Pakistani community and exhibitors alike.

This time around the visitor count was 14,000 with only one hall at the Dubai World Trade Centre. For the Pakistan Property Show Dubai in 2018 the count is projected to be around 25,000 visitors with two halls. Zameen.com’s Pakistan Property Show has indeed created inroads into the international overseas Pakistani and foreign investor markets and everybody stands to gain from this initiative. And which is why the success of Pakistan Property Show Dubai matters to all stakeholders.
