National Highways & Motorway Police to Hire 10,000 People Soon

National Highways & Motorway Police will make more than 10,000 recruitments in the near future to cater for the additional responsibilities in the shape of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

This was stated by Minister of State for Communications, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry on 20th Raising Day of NH&MP at DIG Hamid Shakeel Shaheed Auditorium.

He further said that NH&MP remained an exemplary department for all the national institutions due to its consistent excellent performance over the years.

National Highways and Motorway Police is extending its services for road users travelling on Highways and Motorways to make their journey safer and secure.

The government has initiated multiple mega projects for the development and prosperity of the country specifically road networks. These projects will play a pivotal role in achieving economic objectives of the country. The responsibilities of NH&MP after completion of these projects, are going to increase manifold.

The ceremony was attended by Secretary Communications Muhammad Siddique Memon, Chairman NHA Shahid Ashraf Tarar, Deputy DG FWO Maj. Gen Saeed Akhtar, former Inspectors General of Police, IG NH&MP Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam, DIG HQs Ishfaq Ahmed, DIG (Operations) Ghulam Rasul Zahid, AIG Mujeeb ur Rehman, AIG Asghar Ali, Sector Commanders, Senior officers and families of martyrs.

Minister of State for Communications further stated that NH&MP is one of the few institutions of Pakistan, which a nation feels proud for. The establishment of NH&MP in 1997 was the vision of the then Government.

He said,

Today’s ceremony is the acknowledgement of excellent performance of this esteemed organization. It is my earnest desire that this force not only sustains its efficiency but to improve it. While appreciating the performance of Motorway Police, I would also like to acknowledge the support & patronage of the present government in providing necessary facilities.

The IG, NH&MP Dr. Syed kaleem Imam said that NH&MP is fighting and making vigorous efforts to reduce accident rates to the lowest level by maintaining better discipline on roads through briefing, education and constructive enforcement.

He further said that in view of ever growing traffic flow and construction of the new configurations, necessitates for development of a well thought strategy to overcome the upcoming challenges. On this auspicious occasion, former Inspectors General of Police Iftikhar Rashid, Raffat Pasha, Dr. Waseem Kausar, Zaffar Abbas Lak and Zulfiqar Ahmed Cheema also shared their well wishes for the success of this Institution.

Minister of State for Communications Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry also inaugurated newly built state of art auditorium named after DIG Hamid Shakeel shaheed. He presented shields to Secretary Communications Muhammmad Siddique Memon, Chairman NHA Shahid Ashraf Tarar, Deputy DG FWO Maj. Gen Saeed Akhtar and former Inspectors General of Police Iftikhar Rashid, Raffat Pasha, Dr. Waseem Kausar, Zaffar Abbas Lak and Zulfiqar Ahmed Cheema.

The Minister also distributed appointment letters to the legal heirs of NH&MP martyrs and distributed promotion letters among the promoted NH&MP officials. At the end of the ceremony IG, NH&MP Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam presented a shield to Minister Of State for Communications Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry.
