Huami – a Xiaomi subsidiary – has unveiled its new generation of the Amazfit Sports Smartwatch. The new model comes in two variants with different prices and features – the Amazfit Sports Smartwatch 2 and the Amazfit Sports Smartwatch 2S.
As the name suggests, the Amazfit 2S has a higher price tag along with a handful of additional features.
Design
Just like its predecessor, the Amazfit Pace, the watch is round but has a sportier appeal than before. It has a ceramic build with 316L stainless steel buttons paired with carbon fiber and glass-reinforced polycarbonate to make it light and sturdy.
The always-on display is a 1.34-inch LCD with a resolution of 320 x 300 pixels and has a 2.5D tempered glass on top. Both variants have the IP67-certification and are water-proof up to a depth of 50 meters.
The 2S has a more premium build, it features a 2.5D sapphire crystal top and a stronger leather strap instead of the rubber strap in the base variant.
Features
Internally, the watch has 512MB RAM and a 1.2GHz dual core processor. The internal storage is 4GB (2GB is reserved) and it sports a built-in GPS as well.
The watch has several sensors and trackers which can keep track of activities such as swimming, walking, running, running outdoors, running on a treadmill, mountaineering, open-water swimming, and more.
The Amazfit has a really unique feature of being able to detect if the user is in open-water or in a pool. The users can switch the watch between 11 sports profiles and also use advanced performance metrics like Training Effect and Vo2Max.
The battery is a 280mAh Li-Po unit and it can last 5 days per charge or 35 hours if GPS is constantly used. To be honest, that’s more than what Samsung and Apple can offer with their smartwatches.
Price and Availability
The base variant, the Smartwatch 2 costs $150 (~Rs.15,500) and the Smartwatch 2S has a price tag of $220 (~Rs.22,500). It will be initially sold in China so we can expect it to be available in Pakistan in the coming months.

What’s the difference other than design in the new watches? The original amazefit has a very dull display and i think they’re giving the same in the new one as the resolution is also the same.
Exactly. Used Amazefit pace, display is very dim.
The display was dim because they used reflective displays, which are excellent in daylight e.g. E-ink displays we see in kindles.
But they suck in low light or indoor…
xiaomi mi Amazfit pace is one of the finest and economical watch i had one and really happy with the working @watchareapk
