Vivo’s APEX Concept Smartphone Could be the First Truly Bezel-Less Smartphone

Vivo might be an unknown smartphone brand for many, but the Chinese technology giant is slowly picking up. Currently ranked at no. 5 in the global smartphone market, Vivo recently surpassed Apple and Samsung by launching the first smartphone with In-Display fingerprint scanning technology.

Today, Vivo has teased its upcoming concept smartphone, “APEX” which has the same FullView Display moniker, only without any kind bezels this time.

The teaser video shows a smartphone design with no bezels or a notch on the front. Which could mean that Vivo has managed to put the selfie camera under the screen, just like the fingerprint scanner on X20 UD to achieve a truly bezel-less design or there might be no selfie camera on this phone at all.

APEX design to incorporate not only in-screen finger print scanner but in-screen selfie camera as well

The teaser doesn’t give away other details or the date when this concept phone will be unveiled but it does give a subtle hint that the phone will have the In-Display fingerprint scanning technology with the words Unlock The Future.

Some rumors suggest that this is the same smartphone, leaked on Chinese social media websites last month, to feature a bezel-less display which doubles as the fingerprint scanner.

So instead of putting your finger on a select spot, you could unlock the phone by just pressing anywhere on the screen.

With MWC 2018, just around the corner it is highly plausible that Vivo will launch this phone in Barcelona, but just like the X20 UD it might be available in select markets only.
